But that’s literally what the gratuity is for. Conscientious restaurants want to make sure their staff gets a little something something from a large party, auto grats are for that reason. If they expect a tip on top of that, something is wrong.
Your argument that the Steam deck is emblematic of Gabe’s statement of piracy being a service issue, is somehow reinforced by telling us all of the artificial hoops you have to jump through to pirate on the Steam Deck? That’s just DRM with extra steps.
I’m in agreement. Old PC games like pre-2006 are fine, but anything newer than that, especially GFWL and beyond, i’m just not comfortable downloading executables for. Even repacks seem mega sketchy to me, so I’m fine with waiting for steam/gog sales.
Launchbox is a great option for organizing your PC games and roms, but it doesn’t really do anything automatically except for scraping box art and metadata of games/systems. It also doesn’t offer a server/client setup, so there’s no streaming games unless you have a VM.
You could install CF on the android box, install vpn and configure DNS to cloudflare or quad9 or something, install Kodi with the right repos, and have full functionality back
I’ve been through a bunch of life phases and gaming has basically been a part of all of them. Definitely, over time, the thrill of a new game is a bit more subdued than when you were a kid because you have done it so many times, and I’ll admit, if a game doesn’t immediately grab me, I probably will bounce off it. I have a ton of games that I still play from gen 2-6 if I need to feel nostalgic. But I realized that I have trouble committing to games that feel too samey as the most recent ones I’ve played. If I play a JRPG, I have to follow that up with a platformer, followed by an indie game, followed by a Sony 3rd person shooter. Fighting games are also great pallet cleansers. Sounds like you’re depressed, and you should really spend time in nature and remember what and how you found joy in the past with gaming.
Decentralize. Democratize. Demonetize. Time for a new internet, a new gaming industry, and a way of sharing thoughts and ideas where clout is the least important factor.
I’m not sure leftists are concerning themselves with bad faith “all men are scum” debates. Attention seekers and rage baiters on the internet may style themselves as socially and ethically conscious (which is funny that that gets its own discrete political ideology…huh) but no true leftist seeks to divide the working class along sex/gender lines. It’s definitely not a top 10 talking point of leftist politics.
