I didn’t degrade intelligence, just asking if we can stop using because it doesn’t help others who aren’t in the science space. I’m saying this in an open forum. Many people that say it do not understand this. They think that gravity is just absent. I was giving some context to help others.

Hope this helps others! :)

I am! Being a nerd is fun.

Please stop saying gravity when you mean G forces. There is nowhere in our known universe where gravity isn’t a factor. The reason you can experience 0 G forces in orbit is BECAUSE of gravity. You’re free falling to earth constantly because it’s pulling you in.

0G’s is what you need want to say. Also microgravity is appropriate because it’s “low apparent gravitational forces.”

Huh? Use the remote app on your phone. It automatically pops up like a notification when there’s a text box on the screen. So easy. You can turn the box off by holding the power button for a few seconds. To close apps, you double tap the TV button and then it’s an iOS like interface that you scroll over and swipe up on the ones you want to close.

The UI is very minimal and the same across most all apps, so it’s easy to learn and use. It may be missing some power features, but most things are accessed via clicking of just holding.

Hops cover up shitty beer very easily. That’s a big part in it.

Even with a dozen microbreweries within a walk of my house, it’s over half IPAs. I love them, but my wife is sad about the lack of stouts. There’s a couple of good breweries with solid stouts, so it’s not too bad.

I moved to Seattle 2 years ago, and I’ve seen it ALL over the US. Mostly in gentrified neighborhoods or the college kid areas.

Check out how successful Dick’s is in Washington. They have so many locations now. Their first location was Wallingford, Seattle. It’s about a 1 mile walk from the U district, where a lot of the college kids hang out. Now, Dick’s has a location in most major districts of Seattle, mostly around bars, and even outside of Seattle. They are cheap ($2.50 for a cheeseburger) and super fast because they don’t do customizations with a limited menu. Mostly window only walk up pick up, no dine in (except for the one outside the hockey stadium, but it’s standing only).

You’ve got the right idea.

flames5123, to asklemmy in Which YouTuber still creates high-quality videos to this day?

Veritasium is in the same vein.

flames5123, to privacy in YouTube adds tracking parameters to shared URLs that can be traced back to individual Google accounts

Huh? That’s just wrong.

youtube.com/watch?v=FOO&si=BAR would be shortened to just youtu.be/FOO?si=BAR

The link to other people’s account is in the &si=BAR part. Probably standing for “share ID” or “source ID”or something. The shortened link is just the same as the long one with watch?v=FOO being included in the URL instead of the parameters.

That is 100% wrong. Did you read the tweets or even look at a single YouTube URL?

Exactly. A website has to download ALL the HTML every time. Sure, it can put all that in a JavaScript file and cache it but it has to be built each time. With an app, you (the devs) get to choose what to load, and it’s just usually a few simple things each time instead of constantly running a script.

Using Lemmy as a web app really sucked. Having an actual app with actual integration to a robust UI works.

flames5123, to lemmyshitpost in Why do it

To his credit, this was the only found bit of plagiarism on his channel. The other channels he calls out are wayyyy worse. But it’s blatant word for word plagiarism.

flames5123, to piracy in Sony is going to remove certain purchased titles from user libraries

This is all movie/show content. It’s still BS, but it’s licensed TV/movie content that’s the problem. The dumb laws we have really are the problem.

flames5123, to asklemmy in Spotify Wrapped 2023 is out, what's your top artist and top song for the year?

I use Apple Music, but my top artist was AJR. 14 of my top 15 songs were by them. Over half my listening time. Their just resonate with my life right now, and I can’t get enough.

My second my played was Snails House. I love the bops they put out!

flames5123, to linuxmemes in So sad when it happens

Oooo. Thanks! I knew there was an internal one like that. I’ll check it out, and hopefully it works easily for uploading to fflogs.
