gregorum,

or how hairy it is (those are Jeep guys)

how would you know?

gregorum,

It’s a jeep thing

you mentioned that. my questions was how would you know that?

gregorum,

who did that?

gregorum, (edited )

well, i didn’t actually say that, and i’m not responsible for others filling in the blanks with their own negative thoughts. as you can see, several others actually managed to conclude something different.

don’t blame the Rorschach test because you see something you don’t like.

gregorum, (edited )

that’s exactly what blaming me for something i didn’t say is

gregorum,

That’s an interesting way to say that they shouldn’t get paid if they’re not doing their jobs.

gregorum,

So did I, and it was. Don’t let anyone tell you differently.

it’s not. the lemmy-ui max width for the poster element is far smaller than that (1104x960). in fact, the poster element is set to be a near-square (displays as rectangular in web and mobile web on the page header), as it also displays in the sidebar and in mobile apps as a square if the image is. most mods simply assume it’s a rectangle and upload a rectangular image.

this image is made to be the largest usable resolution lemmy can display as a community poster and optimized to be very small in file size. see on lemm.ee/c/plex

I’m just an old fashioned, country mortician, Jim.

Why you eyein’ my lemon drink?

gregorum, (edited )

I hope you don’t have any quadrotritacale lying around because… you don’t anymore!

gregorum, (edited )

I will as soon as I get my damned replicator fixed!

gregorum,

They say they use it to sync up your watch history to your account so it can sync across devices, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were selling your watch telemetry to advertisers as well.

IIRC, it was the Vulcan science officer in Star Trek: Phase II that they originally wanted to be an android.

gregorum,

We come to serve

gregorum,

with all of the subtle hints in the dialog over the years, one could argue that the writers were actively trying to subvert the wishes of the producers.

gregorum,

The Apple MessagePad did it on-the-fly, by the word. Problem was, it was terrible. It was supposed to learn your handwriting and get better over time, but it didn’t. The next to try was Palm, and they mostly got it with their special shorthand glyphs. I had both, and was much happier with my PalmPilots.

gregorum,

If that latinum that Morn puked up and gave to Quark was actually just a bit of Odo, and later disappeared, that would be so damn hilarious…

gregorum,

Not always

gregorum, (edited )

It’s in the realm of possibility, but it is extremely unlikely. Like, extremely, outrageously unlikely.

The real question here is: why? do you suspect this is happening? While I cannot speak to your circumstance, it’s much more likely there is some other more rational explanation for what is going on.

To add to this: sometimes it’s simply an add-on to an employer-offered plan, and simply a result of that sort of enrollment. Employers like Home Depot, Target, and Best Buy fall into this category.

Edit: even if that employee hates that person, that, person can easily. Become the beneficiary of a large employee policy just because the signatory happened to know the information relevant to the heir when they happened to die.

gregorum,

Just because Chekov wasn’t on the bridge and we didn’t see him doesn’t mean that he wasn’t still part of the crew somewhere else on the ship. When we finally did see Chekov in Season 2, he at no point claimed to have just joined the crew.
