gregorum,

That’s an interesting way to say that they shouldn’t get paid if they’re not doing their jobs.

willing to bet the driver of the tiny truck has a bigger… ahem

gregorum,

It’s a jeep thing

you mentioned that. my questions was how would you know that?

gregorum,

or how hairy it is (those are Jeep guys)

how would you know?

gregorum,

So did I, and it was. Don’t let anyone tell you differently.

gregorum,

The Apple MessagePad did it on-the-fly, by the word. Problem was, it was terrible. It was supposed to learn your handwriting and get better over time, but it didn’t. The next to try was Palm, and they mostly got it with their special shorthand glyphs. I had both, and was much happier with my PalmPilots.

gregorum,

IIRC, it was the Vulcan science officer in Star Trek: Phase II that they originally wanted to be an android.

gregorum,

They say they use it to sync up your watch history to your account so it can sync across devices, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they were selling your watch telemetry to advertisers as well.

gregorum,

Not always

It’s in the realm of possibility, but it is extremely unlikely. Like, extremely, outrageously unlikely.

The real question here is: why? do you suspect this is happening? While I cannot speak to your circumstance, it’s much more likely there is some other more rational explanation for what is going on.

To add to this: sometimes it’s simply an add-on to an employer-offered plan, and simply a result of that sort of enrollment. Employers like Home Depot, Target, and Best Buy fall into this category.

Edit: even if that employee hates that person, that, person can easily. Become the beneficiary of a large employee policy just because the signatory happened to know the information relevant to the heir when they happened to die.

gregorum,

with all of the subtle hints in the dialog over the years, one could argue that the writers were actively trying to subvert the wishes of the producers.

gregorum,

If that latinum that Morn puked up and gave to Quark was actually just a bit of Odo, and later disappeared, that would be so damn hilarious…

I will as soon as I get my damned replicator fixed!

I hope you don’t have any quadrotritacale lying around because… you don’t anymore!

gregorum,

Pass the honey mustard

They’d have to scan it in first, but perhaps they have already?

Edit: there seems to be some debate as to the quality of replicated food, even within Trek. Personally, I think it depends on a number of variables including the quality of the sample scanned in, the quality and working order of the replicator used to replicate food, etc. Not all replicators are equal.

Also, one can replicate ingredients and then use a replicator to cook a dish as one would in a normal kitchen (although how is unclear), potentially creating a better (or worse) version of a dish with nuance and a personal touch. We have seen Janeway attempt this with various degrees of success— or, more often, failure.

I’m just an old fashioned, country mortician, Jim.

Why you eyein’ my lemon drink?
