Its disgusting, really. It‘s also part of our daily lives. Having a great idea or great skills isnt enough, unless they are part of the dark triad. People with those skills will always eat your lunch - for free.

We need to pathologize these behaviors instead of normalizing them.

I think the important message is „informed decision“ instead of „indoctrination“.

You can decide to do something against your immediate self interest to get a greater benefit later.

But the way we were brought up was „do what you‘re told“ which leads to exploitation and endless suffering to provide for the exploiters.

I have no idea if it is censorship but the amount of jerks throwing shit at you for saying {insert critical question} is insane. I‘m not talking about „did you know mozilla sells kid slaves?“ idiocy but things like „I don’t like that google is the main financial contributor“ stuff.

I totally get your point. Instead of just saying „this is false for x reason“ they go after the people who post this.

The worst development of all has been the „buy but dont own“ model. If I buy anything, I own it. It’s symple, reliable and permanent. Obviously, if I own something, I can sell it. If someone owns a video game, music or a movie, they can sell it. This perverted idea of being able to tell a customer what to do with their bought stuff needs to go.

Likely not in the same country as the person you asked but where I live, being homeless means you don’t want to go to the government and ask for housing/money. You get both. Those people who run around crowded areas do that as occupation, not because they’re starving.
