The DCEU ends not with a bang, but a wimper. (lemmy.ml)

10 years after Zod’s snapped neck, Martha, “some kinda Suicide Squad”, CGI moustache, rennouncing your wish, the hiearchy of power changing, and Speed Force PS1 graphics, the DC Extended Universe finally comes to a close. And it ends the same way it started - with a Rotten score....

Sometimes it’s not even “forever”. Wonder Woman '84 was only the 2nd film and it shit the bed so hard it not only killed any future WW movie, but it tanked the Star Wars movie the director was supposed to do next.

I did not, but in terms of the way they built out the animated universe was superlative.

First 2/3rds of Wonder Woman was fine, but it fell apart at the end. WW 84 though, eesh. Bell to bell just trash, except Pedro Pascal who is a joy!

Interesting that Excel sees =6/2(1+2) as an invalid formula and will not calculate it (at least on mobile). =6/2*(1+2) returns 9 because it’s executing the division and multiplication left to right (6/2=3*3=9).

Google Sheets (mobile) does’t like it either and returns an error. =6/2*(1+2) also returns “9”.

Becherovka, it’s an herbal alcohol, kind of a cousin to Jägermeister.

Best described as “Christmas in a bottle.”

Little high for frying potatoes, I don’t see a modern setting for “pot”.

High end candy making is for light and dark caramel.

Maybe it means your thermometer is accidentally touching the bottom of the pot and isn’t accurate?

Because not letting people sit down will definitely make them less tired…

Well, least amount of work for him. He always brings his A-game from what I’ve seen, but a nice payday for a fraction of the number of days worked is nice!

Reminds me of the “NO PLATE” story.

Which is… apparently TRUE? O_O

I put toasted pecans on my sweet potato casserole instead of marshmallows. This looks similar…

The topping I use:

2 cups pecan halves
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg white, lightly beaten
1/8 teaspoon salt
Pinch cayenne pepper
Pinch ground cumin

The trailer was garbage. It looked like a 1980s tv show.

True story, just before my open heart surgery, I had the top two surgeons arguing over who was going to do it. LOL. I’m like “guys, guys, I’m sure you’re both great, I’m just the guy on the table… flip a coin, do rock paper scissors…”

I think the key thing is that it’s turn based and a lot of kids that age don’t have the patience for a turn based game, especially when you’re controlling a party of 4.

I was thinking the same thing, polar opposite of everything that made Fury Road attractive.

[DISCUSSION] What director(s) do you think have the best filmography?

I was checking out the new season of Fargo, which made me want to rewatch the 1996 movie and I got to thinking, the Coen Brothers have a fantastic filmography. They have way more hits than misses and they make some of the most interesting movies out there. No Country for Old Men is probably one of my favorites of all time. So...

I own a BUNCH of movies, but there are only a few creators where I feel obligated to a) own ALL their movies and b) group them together as a block.

Coen Brothers
Kevin Smith
Quentin Tarantino
Wes Anderson
The Marx Brothers
Baz Luhrmann

I was expecting a straight list. This is the movie equivalent of an online recipe that has to start with the chef’s life story first…

If I had to list out the stuff that made an impression on me, it’s an absurdly high count of Harrison Ford:

Star Wars
Empire
Jedi
Raiders
Temple of Doom
Last Crusade
Blade Runner
Witness
After Hours
Brazil
Buckaroo Banzai
Big Trouble in Little China
Ghostbusters
Silverado
Star Trek II
Star Trek IV

He should be good in the role, but Jesus Christ do we need Lex Luthor AGAIN?

Supes has a deeper rogues gallery than Lex and Zod. Brainiac? Metallo? Parasite? Toyman? Bizarro? Mr. Mxyzptlk? Anyone?

Superman - Lex Luthor
Superman 2 - Zod / Lex Luthor
Superman 3 - Computer Science
Superman 4 - Lex Luthor / Nuclear Man
Superman Returns - Lex Luthor
Man of Steel - Zod
Batman v Superman - Lex Luthor / Batman / Doomsday
Justice League - Lex Luthor / Steppenwolf / Darkseid

User reviews are trash. Most people have no idea what makes a movie “good” or “bad”.
