“Ticket Procurer” It’s a skillet! :)

What's (are) the funniest/stupidest way(s) you've broken your linux setup?

Tinkering is all fun and games, until it’s 4 am, your vision is blurry, and thinking straight becomes a non-option, or perhaps you just get overly confident, type something and press enter before considering the consequences of the command you’re about to execute… And then all you have is a kernel panic and one thought...

Just because they left doesn’t mean you can’t still be friends!

Lemmy instance which has not defederated with any other instance.

Hi everyone. I have found many ghost comments in posts. Like one of the posts has 300+ upvotes and 28 comments but when I opened it, there were no comments. I tried different Lemmy apps and it’s the same in all of them. Which leads me to believe that it has something to do with defederation done by Lemmy.ml. Which instance has...

Currently, the big problem with federation is that some instances are running newer software than others. Causes lag and other weird problems.

I don’t think there’s any single instance that hasn’t either defederated from someone or been defederated.

I love how Wormtongue regresses to an angry 14 year old…

“Awww… I TOLD YOU to take the wizard’s STAFF! GOSH!”

Thing is though, as Gandalf the White, he likely didn’t likely NEED the staff to eject Saruman’s influence, it just made it easier.

Should have been Luke, not Solo though…

I’d have to wait 10 years to buy Apple at $0.07 per share, but I think I could collect enough money to make that into more than $10 million.

In this case, since it’s two different communities, nottheonion and offbeat, I don’t think there’s a way to do that.

Having a bard in the party is like this… except there’s a dude actually playing Immigrant Song:

Because not letting people sit down will definitely make them less tired…

I need to re-watch part 1 then I’ll be ready…

I think the key thing is that it’s turn based and a lot of kids that age don’t have the patience for a turn based game, especially when you’re controlling a party of 4.

I… guess it’s funny if you know Uno?

He should be good in the role, but Jesus Christ do we need Lex Luthor AGAIN?

Supes has a deeper rogues gallery than Lex and Zod. Brainiac? Metallo? Parasite? Toyman? Bizarro? Mr. Mxyzptlk? Anyone?

Superman - Lex Luthor
Superman 2 - Zod / Lex Luthor
Superman 3 - Computer Science
Superman 4 - Lex Luthor / Nuclear Man
Superman Returns - Lex Luthor
Man of Steel - Zod
Batman v Superman - Lex Luthor / Batman / Doomsday
Justice League - Lex Luthor / Steppenwolf / Darkseid

It probably won’t, but everyone needs an opportunity to learn. :)

In this case, it does not. But if the comment was removed, there wouldn’t be anything to link to anyway.

When a mod bans a user, there’s a checkbox to remove content automatically, which makes sense, if it’s bad enough to merit a ban, there’s no way the comment stays.

If the comment itself were simply removed, you would see a copy paste of it in the modlog.

Doesn’t seem like most of those are ACTUALLY horror movies… that may be the problem there…

It’s really simple to see why.

I dunno, surely you would have heard of Everything Everywhere All At Once due to the Oscar wins.

Around here at least both The Green Knight and Marcel the Shell With Shoes On were heavily advertised. So was First Cow now that I think about it.
