What is your unpopular flim opinion

I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds

A lot of the time they didn’t even bother appending “New.” We have way too many Berlins, Manchesters, Lebanons, etc.

Our native-inspired place names are the superior place names, anyway.

I like the graphic but it needs to expand beyond espresso.

Cafezinho: Boil water and sugar, add coffee grounds, strain and serve.

Turkish coffee: Like cafezinho but not strained. Optionally add cardamom.

Cowboy coffee / backpacker’s special: Cheap coarse-ground coffee, boiled and served unstrained. A little chewy but it does the job.

Violent chaos in the US. One of three things will happen:

  • The Supreme Court sides with the states that want to remove Trump from the ballot. Trump’s minions cry foul and lose their minds.
  • Trump gets on the ballot but he loses to Biden again. Trump’s minions cry foul and lose their minds.
  • Trump gets on the ballot and wins. Trump and the GOP take that as a mandate to govern with impunity, and run roughshod over the country.

Usually you have to be a resident for a number of years before being eligible for citizenship. Often the process is faster and easier if you meet minimum income or wealth thresholds, because countries like hosting rich expats.

Interesting read, thanks for posting. Though the “maybe it was homicide” angle feels like a tease to create a better story. The climbers committed basic mountaineering sins: continuing when team members were sick or exhausted, splitting up the team (and letting some people go off alone!), overnighting on the glacier without appropriate gear, etc. These are common ways people die in such conditions.
