Yea I’m quiet AF when I wake up early. The longer everyone else sleeps the more quiet time I get.

What and just experience my emotions? No thank you.

lightnsfw, to asklemmy in Do you prefer to wear a smartwatch or a regular watch?

The whoop band looks like what I’m looking for but that membership is too steep for something that I just want to gather data. Thanks for the recommendations.

lightnsfw, to asklemmy in People of Lemmy that take more than 5 seconds to start your car and drive, what are you doing?

I have to merge onto the highway 3 minutes after I leave my house. Driving slowly is not an option.

lightnsfw, to asklemmy in People of Lemmy that take more than 5 seconds to start your car and drive, what are you doing?

No. If your oil is circulating your engine is fucked.

lightnsfw, to asklemmy in People of Lemmy that take more than 5 seconds to start your car and drive, what are you doing?

They said the oil pump isn’t running when the car isn’t moving. That’s definitely 100% wrong.

lightnsfw, to asklemmy in People of Lemmy that take more than 5 seconds to start your car and drive, what are you doing?

The car doesn’t have to be in gear for the oil pump to run. If the engine is running the oil pump is on. That’s why there’s a red light that looks like an oil can when the key is on before you start it but it turns off when the engine is running because there is oil pressure. If that light is on when the engine is running you need to shut it off immediately or you’re going to be replacing an engine.

Stare into the void and contemplate the utter futility of existence

Yea this one is pretty much it for me.

lightnsfw, to asklemmy in Do you prefer to wear a smartwatch or a regular watch?

I like being able to check the time without pulling my phone out in situations where that may be considered rude.

lightnsfw, to asklemmy in Do you prefer to wear a smartwatch or a regular watch?

I wear an automatic Seiko. I like that I don’t have to worry about a battery staying charged/wearing out over time. I just have to take a second every couple weeks to set it forward to account for it losing a few minutes. Another factor is when I looked at the smart watches that were available last time I got a new phone and they were all very large and I have small wrists which I don’t want to emphasize. My current watch fits well.

I would like to get a bracelet or something that tracks biometric data but from what I saw when I was investigating those is that they all have watch functionally as well and I don’t want to wear two watches.

I wear mine (analog) everywhere except the shower and gym. It’s probably waterproof enough for the shower too but I don’t like risking it.
