lud,

Ancient Greek and Rome used them quite a lot, as I know.

lud,

It looks like these are examples from some documentation and not someone actual config

lud,

that’s against the rules, innit?

No, obviously not.

lud,

Yeah, it sucked how popular that meme got without people realizing that the logo hadn’t changed.

It really showed how few actually use Firefox

lud,

Good for you buddy.

Let people enjoy whatever they damn please.

Btw, you don’t have to specify that you browse the internet. Everyone here does that and pretty much everyone with internet access in the world.

lud,

No, I will be a real man and do whatever the fuck I want.

lud,

This real time information spread during the Ukrainian invasion and this, is so crazy.

That’s very speculative though. We don’t know yet the effect how large scale quantum computing will have on encryption.

Fun fact: Quantum computers already exist and you can play around with one for free*: www.ibm.com/quantum

*Max 10 min of system usage per month.

lud,

If you have to use any, I recommend “micro” It’s very easy to use and has mouse support by default. Many of the shortcuts are also reasonable, like Ctrl+z for undo.

lud,

They could shutdown your VPS and have done so in the past according to others.

This is a hosting company, they don’t want the attention and instead want to stay as reputable as possible.

They (or someone, we really don’t know) even got Plex to ban using them for Plex servers.

lud,

Just do what they asked you to do. Remove the torrents, it’s not like they are threatening legal action. They are actually asking pretty nicely.

In the future, use a VPN.

lud,

I am not saying remove the files, just the torrent (as in stop seeding).

lud,

We have the best new scanners (I think they are CT scanners) at our airport. You don’t have to take out anything anymore since their new scanners can scan it anyways, somehow. Apparently you can also take any amount of fluid with you and you just keep it in your bag, which is neat.

Why wasn't NYC's Central Park concept copied by other cities?

I’m talking about a massive park in the absolute heart of the city. Located such that is naturally surrounded by city high rises. *People are giving examples of parks that are way off in the boonies. I’m trying to say located centrally, heart of the city, you know where the high rises are. Yes I understand nyc has more, the...

lud,

I don’t quite understand how you Americans number streets or why you talk so much about intersections, but I think this is right:

maps.app.goo.gl/PgFcT1f5MCg1cJyd730-22 min with the metro or 30 min walking, or 30-17 by bus.

lud,

Fixed link

You have to escape all the “)” otherwise it ends the link.

lud,

You’re right. The rendering in my app is broken.

lud,

Audiobookbay.nl works pretty well (best public tracker I think) for audiobooks but the absolute best source for audiobooks and ebooks is the private tracker myanonamouse.net

Disney is gouging customers with a near doubling of subscription costs. (sh.itjust.works)

Disney is raking its customers over the coals with a 75% price hike for their annual subscription (originally $80.) People wonder why piracy is on the rise.Multiple commenters are saying I’m off base about the 75% price increase. My payment less than a year ago was $79.99. Here’s the proof.

lud,

The quality and experience is horrible though.

Torrenting always wins. But maybe you have poor internet and don’t want to wait for a download (although you can watch a movie while downloading it.)

A Plex server with automatic downloading is way more convenient.

lud,

Haha, paying for a service isn’t the same as being ripped off.

lud,

Don’t use streaming services they suck.

If you’re gonna pirate at least do it properly, by downloading.

lud,

Why are you posting so much about streaming sites in this thread?

People that feel superior for not paying are so stupid.

Some people actually like the ease of use, user experience and legality of paid streaming services.

People that try and justify piracy because X are also so stupid.

I like piracy because free is nice, but some people think that they are morally in the right, because “companies bad”. I won’t say that piracy is theft but the industry obviously needs people that do the right thing to survive, and making fun of people who do is very counterproductive.

And the quality of (newer) physical media far surpasses the best of free and paid streaming services.

You can get the same quality by downloading though.

lud,

Just use a good paid VPN and bind the VPN network Interface to your torrent client so that it’s impossible to torrent without the VPN turned on.
