null,

It absolutely is. If you eat pork, you indirectly pay for pigs to be slaughtered. Full stop.

But you will see the event happen though.

Not with a binary search.

Edit: just collapse this thread and move on. Cosmic Cleric is an obvious troll.

null,

And if you don’t listen to LUP, you should really listen to LUP. And all the other Jupiter podcasts.

Ways to pirate music as convenient as Spotify?

The reason I gave up on MP3’s and subscribed to Spotify was because Spotify was easy. I’ve been listening “Iron Maiden - Empire of the Clouds” song every day and like a week ago, its removed. This was the last straw for me. Right now I’m trying to find “Stremio” of the music world. Can someone assist?...

null,

Now this is what I’ve been looking for!

I like to DJ sometimes and I typically just create playlists for sets I want to do and listen to them over and over to get familiar / play around with the order / discover new tracks that fit by letting Spotify make suggestions.

It’s a pain to then have to go find all those tracks manually, so this sounds perfect for my usecase.

NixOS is just a hardware store

null,

It’s not that it’s bad on a server, it’s just that something like Debian with a couple tools on top gets you to the same place with less resources.

For a home server, that reduction in overhead can mean squeezing out a few more services on a single box.

null,

I’d challenge that asking what do you really need above base Debian?

I’ve got a script to set up my debian servers and it doesn’t include much beyond adding docker, assigning users to groups, and adding a couple tools (just looked them up: sudo ca-certificates curl gnupg ufw).

I saw a significant decrease in idle CPU and RAM load by switching from Ubuntu-server to Debian Bookworm + those tools.

null,

I didn’t know I wanted this, but now I need to have it.

null,

OP – can you please come back after the surgery and let us know that you’re okay?

null,

Yup, as soon as I moved to a privacy-focused browser, pi-hole, and VPN, I started getting a ton more captchas and they had many more in a row.

I consider it a badge of honor.

null,

It’s weird that you’re being this defensive about it.

The other commenter wasn’t chastising you for posting the article, they were commenting on the article and the author of it. Nothing to do with you.

null,

Denial about what? The comic makes no comment about child horniness…

null,

See my first thought was torrent trackers.

null,

Sites for what? Trackers for what?

null,

As if sandboxes are some brand new concept…

Of course people want them for some use-cases. No one here is saying that every application in the world should be restricted that way, grandpa.

null,

Doesn’t make it a prevailing attitude worthy of whatever nonsense that other guy is spouting.

null,

Here, take some of these: . . . . , , , , ,

null,

Same – happy to seed as needed, but no idea how to find a good, general private tracker for shows and movies

null,

Weird, I find I’m usually the one driving the car, not the other way around. I guess it’s different in snail-land.

null,

What’s the hidden thing that you’re supposed to find here?

null,

I really don’t understand people who don’t want to contribute to an overall better society.

I’m happy to pay more in taxes to have a healthier, better educated, and more stable society. It pays dividends.

New to plex.....sometimes it loses track of my TV show?

Finally got back into sailing the high seas and, first thing i did after getting plex set up was get parks and rec since ive missed it so bad after it left netflix. Its great so far but occasionally it loses track of what ive watched and picks up in the middle of like 9 episodes back?...

null,

What makes UPnP more secure than opening ports?

null,

You did:

Also, Plex can be accessed from outside internet without opening ports on your home router (that’s much safer).

null,

Oh interesting! I didn’t know they had any option besides the UPnP remote connection.

This seems more akin to something like Cloudflare tunnels.
