null, to linux in Windows 11 scores dead last in gaming performance tests against 3 Linux gaming distros

Same, except the most recent update causes random bouts of lag, but rolling back to 535 works for now.

Just curious about the other persons since they only mentioned Wayland

How your performance with X11?

null, to linux in Ubuntu is my daily driver but I'm thinking of setting this up on my never used Raspberry PI -- anyone using it? How tough do you think it will be as a first project?

And if you don’t listen to LUP, you should really listen to LUP. And all the other Jupiter podcasts.

Doesn’t make it a prevailing attitude worthy of whatever nonsense that other guy is spouting.

It’s a graphical boot screen.

Just helps eliminate all the bootloader noise you see when booting up or powering off that make scare off less tech-savvy folks

null, to linux in [Resolved - now using Onboard] Any recommendations for an on-screen keyboard like the one that Windows has. The one that comes with Gnome is annoying to use...

Yeah, obviously. But what do you mean you “switched to” plasma? It’s the default

How original.

Keep patting yourself on the back for shallow thinking, I guess.

Thanks for the link!

It’s kinda more interesting that they are leveraging HoloISO rather than it just being a straight-up partnership with Valve.

Except that time a year and a bit ago where an Arch update broke Grub for a huge number of users.

No distro is immune to breakage.

Which game are you talking about?

null, to risa in Oh, no, you didn’t eat *those* brownies, did you?

Ever done shrooms? Mix it with a little weed at the peak of a good 4-5g and you’ll get some weird shit. Not quite like the pic, but definitely more than waves and streaks.

It’s not false if the event changes the environment around it, which was my point.

No it wasn’t. That’s neither implied nor explicitly stated in your initial reply.

null, to programmer_humor in Programmer tries to explain binary search to the police

And to recap, what you said is:

If an event lasts only a moment and leaves no visual cue, you will see that event happen using a binary search.

Which is, of course, false.

Nah, they’re just gonna say you can use AI or something, as a retroactive explanation for what they obviously weren’t talking about in their original comment. They’re a troll; they’re not going to budge.

Edit: Case in point. They’re now at the level of mental gymnastics that they’re saying part of their original response implied that they were talking about the capabilities of AI at some point in the future.

Weird, I find I’m usually the one driving the car, not the other way around. I guess it’s different in snail-land.
