What are some food items that cost less than what they "should"?

Bananas are ridiculously cheap even up here in Canada, and they aren’t grown anywhere near here. Yet a banana can grow, be harvested, be shipped, be stocked, and then be purchased by me for less than it’d cost to mail a letter across town. (Well, if I could buy a single banana maybe…or maybe that’s not the best...

otp,

Bananas are still cheap, though!

otp,

And I’m thankful for it!

It kind of makes sense though. Pasta is cheap too. Most ramen packs are less noodles than you’d get in a bag of pasta, but with a bit of packaged salt/seasoning mix. It can also be manufactured anywhere with stuff that grows locally (at least where I am).

otp,

And even then, with chocolate, costs are rising. You can tell by how prevalent things like “chocolatey chips” are.

We’ve gotten too used to having cheap coffee and chocolate, and I’m disappointed with the substitutes…too bad I can’t afford the ethical stuff quite yet, lol

otp,

Can’t safely flush them though, no matter how “flushable” they claim to be

otp,

It’s not a problem to touch there ass. It’s touching here ass that makes someone gay.

otp,

I don’t understand why you’re so angry. Do you not get how bidets work?

otp,

I love places where you can just get it yourself. Rare here in North America, but all over the place in Korea

otp,

I don’t know! Wherever the there ass is that the other guy was talking about, I guess

otp,

North America’s hat, the arctic ice cap?

otp,

Canada doesn’t look like clothing though!

America is Canada’s shorts. Florida’s the dong.

otp,

our school had 4 floors

Was it just really narrow or something in the middle of a cramped city?

in both buildings

…what

otp,

Sorry, it’s not that I didn’t understand what you said, it’s that I can hardly fathom it.

Most high schools I was aware of were two floors. In a single building, and I almost forgot to specify that because I’d never heard of a multi-building high school before.

otp,

you could read a book there, drink my coffee

I look forward to using your kitchen counter to drink your coffee!

otp,

Oh, don’t you have one? Or maybe we’d have to take turns until I can get mine

otp,

That’s all on you. The a is spaced far enough away, lol

otp,

if i would own my children, then i could kill them, just like i can kill my dog.

[…]

im officially labelled as “unfit for educating children” because of my radical views

Yeah, this sounds fine to me. Kudos to your government, I guess.

Someone is going around downvoting everyone who says something good about Anker without replying to any of the comments.

Poor etiquette, imo

otp,

It’s one way of wirelessly communicating between devices of different types.

You can have a WiFi-enabled light switch that you can control with your phone without it connecting to the internet.

otp,

There’s the Stunky line in Pokemon, but that’s all I’ve got.

Interesting question!

otp,

It’s weird – the sound happens when the power supply is plugged into the outlet and the HDD, but it turns off when the HDD is plugged into the PC.

I could look for a blinking LED, but it really does sound like a noise maker rather than something electrical. But I’m not an expert.

otp,

Haven’t been able to record it yet, but the sound only happens when the power supply is plugged into the HDD and the outlet (not one or the other), and the HDD is NOT plugged into the computer.

Plugging the HDD into the computer stops the sound. I was unplugging it from the PC to keep it offline when I didn’t need it. (After safely ejecting and waiting etc. of course)

I guess I’ll just need to unplug the power when I’m not using it, too.

otp,

What’s a bridge rectifier?

The power supply is “universal” (comes with different attachments for different regions’ outlets), so I could see it doing something weird like that.

But it only happens when it’s plugged into the outlet, but the HDD is NOT plugged into the computer.

Could it be expecting some extra power from the PC or something?

otp,

Was it like a little tiny weewoo alarm? Because that’s all I can describe it as, Lmao

otp,

Thank you for the reassurance. I guess I’ll just either let it be noisy or leave it fully unplugged when not in use.

First world problems… having to choose between barely audible noise, or having to plug TWO things in to access my 14TB, lmao
