rosymind,

Just wanna say I have mad respect for you for acknowledging that you were wrong, but leaving the post up. I wish more people were as brave as you are

rosymind,

Idk. Not everyone has talent or the ability to gain the skill of the thing they wanna do.

Creativity is still king. But sometimes you need a day job, first

rosymind,

I see a lot of people are missing that the :-) face WAS his actual face.

Which begs the question: did she unmatch because she prefers emojicons, or was she just not attracted to that type of face

rosymind,

Yeah, someone needs to make this into a movie STAT

rosymind, (edited )

Every other word (not literally) out of my mouth is a curse word, so much so that I feel less of a need to use them here. Plus every-once-and-a-while peeps take my rando opinions far too seriously. So, (to compensate), I try to be more polite than I would when actually speaking

rosymind,

You sound like you’re way smarter than I am, but I can absolutely relate to bordom=pain.

I’m constantly learning new things, or delving deeper into subjects I’m already familiar with. I can’t help it. My brain won’t have it any other way (otherwise I get destructive)

rosymind,

As funny as this is, I concur. Also… why were they taking a picture? Kinda concerns me that they may have intentionally pushed the box top over to tip the cat

But maybe I’m just being paranoid. Idk.

rosymind,

They key is to do both. Listen intentently, respond with something like “wow that sucks, would you like a hug?” And then while hugging say something like “is there anything I can do to help you with this?”

That’s what will give you your answer. If she says “no” then just let it be. If she says “I don’t know” help to guide her to the solution. Ask “what do you think could be done to make it better?” And let the pieces fall in place.

Even if you know the answer, it’s better to let people come up with it on their own. They’ll feel understood and empowered, and you won’t get shit on for being calous. Everyone wins

rosymind,

Well that’s adorable

rosymind,

People feel temperature changes a bit differently. Some people come from colder climates and are acclimated to them.

I’m better with tolerating heat. My husband is better tolerating the cold. We’re all just a bit different and that’s awesome

rosymind,

My husband pointed out that certain items like sneakers, backpacks and scrubs are either unisex or women’s. Many other items are that way, too. A men’s watch might be large on a woman’s wrist but no-one would really think twice. A tiny pink watch on a man’s wrist would likely garner more attention (depending on where you are in the western world, of course)

rosymind,

Yeah, I’m almost 40 and I wanna be Avasarala when I grow up

rosymind,

I strongly prefer it on the left, but I’m stuck with it at the bottom presently. It just feels more natural to me there, like turning a page

rosymind,

It would absolutely have worked on me… back in the day

rosymind,

? Poor lady has no shoulders and a head the size of a watermelon

(I wasn’t who downvoted you, btw, I’m not offended by your comment at all- I just don’t see the appeal)

rosymind,

I’m curious to know what your degree is in. I’m not disagreeing with you, but I think many young people are mislead into believing that just getting a degree will be a ticket to financial freedom, but what type of degree a person gets does matter

  • rosymind,

Uh, no. A character can absolutely just be gay, but the way Netflix does it often feels disingenuous and can absolutely take a person out of the show.

Some characters being gay feels right. Some characters being gay feels fake.

Having this opinion does not make a person homophobic and viewing it in such a light is far too black/white in thinking.

Further, posting something on a public discourse forum and then saying “you do not get to debate” is asanine

    rosymind,

That’s cure. You must have really liked that person :)

    rosymind,

My mom gave me shit back when I voted for him for governor of California (we were a liberal household) but I still have zero regrets. I hope Schwarzenegger continues to impress

    rosymind,

I’ll be 40 in a few months. I think for people who grew up at the beginning of the internet, we know how much things can change and how quickly.

My guess is that we’re less willing to put up with bs changes, and more willing to move on because we know something’s popularity doesn’t neccrsarily make it the best choice.

I think that by adulthood into mid-life and older, adults care less about what their friends are using and more about how well things work for them. That’s certainly the case for me

    rosymind,

Lemmy needs a witches vs patriarchy- or is there one already? Im too lazy to check rn
