sbv,

Google had more relevant results for me.

sbv,

I’m in the same boat. The results from Kagi just weren’t good.

sbv,

I love the idea of paying for services I use, but I didn’t get many useful results from Kagi.

Out of curiosity, do you live in the US?

sbv, (edited )

I tried Kagi briefly and the results were as good as google. Searches for stuff near me, programming questions, and travel related stuff were not helpful.

I live in Canada, so I wonder if there’s some sort of regional prioritization.

sbv,

It’s D&D. A game played with friends who have their own likes and dislikes. But sometimes they like the wrong thing.

sbv,

I’ve had positive experiences, mostly in the shit-posting and meme communities.

Maybe it’s just me, but the negative experiences are way more memorable than the positive ones.

sbv,

The world is already a miserable enough place without trying to make people feel bad about their content watching habits.

Exactly this.

I am the kind of guy who will make fun of you for watching and enjoying the first few seasons of Disco and Picard because I think they suck

If someone can be friendly while they’re joking around like that, I’m all for it. But it’s hard to get that subtlety into a comment.

sbv,

Risa is a great community. I don’t post there, but I enjoy the memes.

sbv,

Thanks. I’ve been blocking unfriendly posters. That’s working pretty well.

sbv,

On Reddit I just read without logging in. It was nice. I’m trying to help build communities on Lemmy, so I’m posting and commenting.

Since doing that, I’ve been told I’m enjoying my hobby wrong, that my friends enjoy their hobby wrong, the links I researched for a comment thread are wrong (without references to correct info), and that I’m probably wrong about how I want to live.

I know I should have thicker skin, but the slow drip of unfriendliness is alienating.

sbv,

If my kids were unmonitored, they’d probably watch game streamers all day, every day.

I rationalize it like watching sports, but I don’t really understand that either.

sbv,

When you were younger did you ever watch a sibling or a friend play a game?

My attention wanders if I’m not playing.

I totally understand that people might enjoy it, however. It just isn’t for me.

sbv,

okay, but the orgy is still fine, isn’t it?

sbv,

30F seems like it’s outside the ideal temperature range for an orgy

sbv,

I’ve changed my mind, I think I’ll just take the four day work week, thank you.

sbv,

it says it right up there

sbv,

maybe with a brick of cheese

nothing helps my self esteem like a sleeve of saltines and a brick of cheese

sbv,

They sell (sold?) the recommendation API. When you scrobble, last.fm got to build a corpus of data they could make recommendations from.

sbv,

Sad, but with a lower risk of diabetes:

Every 1 km/hour increase in walking speed was associated with a 9% lower risk of type 2 diabetes, with the minimal threshold of 4km/hour equal to 87 steps/min for men and 100 steps/ min for women, the findings suggest.

sbv,

The Earth OnlyFans market is saturated.

sbv,

The first stage of the prophecy is complete. The Codfather shall soon walk the earth.

Shit-posting aside, I’m glad she was able to do it. A broken town clock is low key depressing.

sbv,

maybe it’s my screen, but the paper looks kind of yellow around those tears

sbv,

It sounds like most criminal organizations aren’t that sophisticated. Check out Phantom Secure for an interesting story.

It might be a scenario where you only hear about criminals using less secure communications because those are the ones that get caught.
