Do you think that you could’ve gotten those people converted to an Indian diet, and they would’ve remained vegan? Getting people to go vegan in the first place is extremely difficult. Try getting them to go vegan and replace their diet with Indian food.

Bravery has nothing to do with it. It tastes good, and there’s no harm to any animals. So why not eat it? Denial for the sake of denial is not a virtue.

If you keep relying on meat substitutes, you haven’t let go of meat entirely, and it would be easy to get back to meat eating.

That’s like saying that if you enjoy shooting people in video games, then you’re one step away from shooting people in real life. I’ve been eating fake meats for almost a decade now, and I’ve never been tempted to eat real meat.

I know how horrible and senseless factory farming is, and I have images of the slaughtered seared into my memory from vegan documentaries. Why would I go back to that when I can have substitutes that are just as good, if not better?

The vaccine doesn’t hang out in your body, so there’s no way that there’s going to be effects 5+ years later. Or even 5 months later. I forget the exact amount of time, but it’s out of your body in a very short time…like 24-48 hours.

Do you know what the long-term effects of COVID are? Ever heard of long COVID?

< 5 minute web search says that the 3rd phase was done a month after it was approved for emergency use and had favorable results, so I’m not sure what your point was.

The date given is Oct. 2021 and the trucker protests began in early 2022.

Which of these talk about anxiety?

“Bigotry” is an umbrella term. Racial prejudice is a type of bigotry.

I could swear somebody made a song out of this. I wish I could remember who. Probably some nerdcore artist.

A common example of trauma is domestic abuse (child abuse, partner abuse, etc.) Another is a combat veteran who has suffered the ravages of war during their tour of duty. Both of these types of trauma can cause anxiety and/or PTSD.

Knowing the cause isn’t the same as knowing the cure. We know what causes cancer, but we still can’t cure it.

I’m not sure where you’re going with “drug pandemic”. Are you taking about opioid addiction?

Or, ya know, child abuse.

Well, scientists have studied this stuff, so you don’t need to guess. Anxiety is caused by trauma, not low self-confidence. However, anxiety can decrease your self-confidence, and increased confidence can lower your anxiety, so the two are linked.

Did you read the words on the picture, too?

seitanic, to memes in But it's all about convenience
@seitanic@lemmy.sdf.org avatar

The price of convenience is always high.

Why? I do things that are inconvenient all the time. It’s inconvenient that I have to go to work 5 times a week in order to make money. It’s inconvenient that I have to get vaccinated so that my immune system is stronger. It’s inconvenient to have to meditate for 20 minutes a day to make my thoughts less scattered. And so on.
