I often wonder about this. Does capitalism impose so much emotional freight that it makes coding intimidating? Does having it attached to ideas about working hard and getting a job drain the fun out of it?

I’m beginning to think that I would actually get more coding done if I abandoned it as a career path.

When you steal books from a library, you’re preventing others from accessing those books. When you download a digital copy of a book, you aren’t.

Same thing with money. If you stole my money, I’d be upset, but I wouldn’t be upset if I had infinite money.

I’ve known several men who were severely fucked in the head, and they could’ve gone to a psychiatrist or a therapist, but they were too proud. In the worst case, the guy committed suicide. Depression is no joke!

A common example of trauma is domestic abuse (child abuse, partner abuse, etc.) Another is a combat veteran who has suffered the ravages of war during their tour of duty. Both of these types of trauma can cause anxiety and/or PTSD.
