That’s blast doors of an unspecified metal. If it follows the usual SW materials where such things are specified, they wouldn’t be exotic materials, they’d be alloys of standard metals on the real periodic table.

That’s why I say that I’m giving the benefit of the doubt to the light saber. They reach plasma temps, which is hot as hell, but wolvie has taken hits from plasma generated by technology and super powers. If it was a sustained thing, maybe; but a fight doesn’t allow for sustained contact.

I mean, obviously, it would depend on who was in charge of the writing decisions. But us nerds have to guesstimate as best we can. In SW universe there are exotics that can resist the sabers both under short and sustained contact. Adamantium is pretty exotic, and is canon about as close to indestructible as it gets.

Light sabers aren’t really meant to be unstoppable, they’re not an ultimate weapon. They’re a high tech, very effective sword that uses coherent energy that generates high heat on contact. There’s limits the what they can do.

It’s one of those things where sabers have been written to have limits more often than Adamantium has, so I err on that side of things.

I kinda dig the bland crust. Not for eating, but for not eating. Like, sometimes you’d rather your calories come from toppings, and saving the crust for the next day to dip in those shitty marinara cups when you’re tired as hell is a good thing.

Like, not often, but sometimes.

Then again, we don’t do pizza often, and it’s usually when all adults are fucking wrecked via some bullshit or another that pushed us past our limits (both me and my wife are disabled, and my dad is old as fuck lol). If we want pizza to really enjoy I make it myself, or order it from the two yankees that set up a shop in town.

Well, I can’t use the stuff personally. Kicks me into anxiety spirals.

But, I know a shit ton of mj enthusiasts because I’ve always been friendly about it anyway.

The degree of reaction you’re describing isn’t common. But it does happen. Herb being a natural product, there’s variance in exactly what balance of canabinoids are there, and there’s always the non-zero risk of additives if you didn’t grow it yourself.

Plenty of people will smoke a J specifically because it makes them sleep easy, but directly passing out is rarer to find. From what I’ve run across, that’s usually a sign that there was something else in it. In the instances I’ve run across it happening otherwise, the person had something else in their system that did it in combination. MJ is typically going to spike heart rate and blood pressure, not drop it, so a sudden and severe drop would be a very unusual event.

So, I suspect that the festival joint was not just weed. People have been known to mix their stuff and not warn others. If that wasn’t the case, then I’d suspect an interaction with a medication you’re taking, but (being honest) I’ve never heard of anything that drops BP in combination with thc, or cbd in specific, nor even with whole flower.

It’s kinda the main risk involved with the substance, and it’s typically a stronger affect when smoked because of the smoke itself. It increases heart activity in a way that isn’t beneficial, and may (not enough data out there for any conclusions to have been published that I’ve seen) have long term negative outcomes.

I would say that if you’re having that showing strong a reaction, it may be time to test out reducing your dosage when you do partake

Huh? I dunno how to break it to you, but being an adult is about handling your shit. You get your shit done. No excuses, no h alf-assing things.

If you use a disability as an excuse to not handle your shit, you aren’t adulting. And that’s coming from a physical cripple. You find the tools you need, you find accommodations that get the job done.

Now, much like with physical disability, neurodivergence can mean that you simply can’t do the same things as anyone else. That’s why things like ssi and ssdi exist, they give you room. I’m not talking a literal job in all cases, I’m talking about getting the shit done that is within one’s ability to perform.

But there’s always a point where a person has to decide to either handle their shit or punk out and use their limitations as an excuse. And that’s what the cartoon is about, imo.

@southsamurai@sh.itjust.works avatar

Well, I’m open to other interpretations in general. There’s room for that, despite the Wilder Wonka being impossible to beat.

I didn’t hate Charlie and the chocolate factory, though that’s mostly because it was a movie of the book rather than a new version of the movie.

And, I like chalumet (however it’s spelled). He’s done some good work. So I’m not against the idea of him doing it.

It’s what you said, it feels like a cash grab rather than a genuine attempt at making a new movie. Those so rarely end well. And, if it sucks as bad as I fear, it kinda t aints the story itself; it would be harder for someone else to do a new movie based on the book in the future (I still maintain that the Wilder movie wasn’t meant to be a true translation of the book, and the Depp movie failed at that despite trying). I’d like to see a truly faithful translation of the book.
