Here’s the thing. You said “nålbinding is knitting.”
Is it in the same family? Yes. No one’s arguing that.
As someone who is a scientist who studies knitting, I am telling you, specifically, in science, no one calls nålbinding knitting. If you want to be “specific” like you said, then you shouldn’t either. They’re not the same thing.
If you’re saying “knitting family” you’re referring to the hobby of weaving, which includes things from crochet to macramé to plaiting.
So your reasoning for calling nålbinding knitting is because random people “call fabric crafting knitting?” Let’s get felting and tatting in there, then, too.
Also, calling something knitting or weaving? It’s not one or the other, that’s not how taxonomy works. They’re both. Nålbinding is nålbinding and a member of the knitting family. But that’s not what you said. You said a nålbinding is knitting, which is not true unless you’re okay with calling all members of the knitting family knitting, which means you’d call macramé, plaiting, and other weaving methods knitting, too. Which you said you don’t.
While most anime doesn’t sexualize minors, a lot of it does, and unfortunately what comes to a lot of people’s minds when we talk about anime is either stuff like Naruto and DBZ where two guys shout at each other until someone wins, or stuff like Kill La Kill where a female character’s power level is seemingly determined by how small their clothes are. Anime would have a much better reputation if shows like ACCA and Mushishi were the ones everyone knew about.
I feel like I want to watch this some more if I could have not seen this scene.
To be fair, that is the only questionable scene in the show. I highly recommend watching it, I’d hate for your only experience of Steins;Gate being the worst scene in it
I’m talking specifically about the scene where Okarin grope Luka. It’s one scene, he’s rightfully called out for being a dickhead by everyone, but it’s still uncomfortable to watch
NaNoWriMo? It’s a push to get that writing project out of your brain and onto paper, it’s super helpful for some people just to have something telling them to do the thing.
NNN? Test of self control. “I can quit any time I want” is something addicts say when they can’t quit any time they want. It’s also super easy; if it feels like masochism to not nut for more than a week, you’re addicted.
Gboard does it too. I’m fairly certain I use the possessive form of “its” more often than the contraction “it’s,” but the damn thing sees an s at the end of a word and is like “that’s GOTTA be a contraction!”
Yup, I figured they were joking because my username has @sh.itjust.works in it, and yup, local browsing is kinda ass but I mainly browse the equivalent of /r/all (hence my commenting in a lemmy.ml thread)
