surewhynotlem,

My favorite is “still kickin”. The Norwegians sometimes say “awake and not crying”.

surewhynotlem,

I don’t doubt that some small (or not?) percentage of the population do think and act and vote this way.

The rest of us allow them to exist and breed and it will be the end of our species eventually.

surewhynotlem,

shotguns a cock

That’ll cost about $350

surewhynotlem,

Regulation is not a core feature of capitalism. It’s just a really good idea

surewhynotlem,

You’re arguing that words don’t mean what many people use them to mean. Most service desk techs that I know have “computer engineer” in their LinkedIn.

And that’s coming from me, a person with a B.E. in computer engineering. I hate that it is what it is, but it is.

surewhynotlem,

He’s just a shill. He was bought by Stouffer’s lasagna division long ago.

surewhynotlem,

It’s like cheat codes in games. That sounds fantastic, but people were very quickly get bored of it.

surewhynotlem,

I always find this interesting because my story went something like this:

“ADHD are just people with normal impulses, but more frequent and less able to control them”

“I’m smart and able to multitask really well. Sure I fixate on things sometimes but everyone does. And of course I can have that espresso before bed. Caffeine doesn’t affect me.”

“Everyone creates patterns in their life to remember basic things. Counting steps in my daily routine, time boxing tasks with alarms, and giving myself lots of little rewards is just efficient time management. I wouldn’t call it a coping mechanism”

“Having kids is stressful and my patterns are broken, that’s normal right? I should talk to someone.”

“What do you mean I’m ‘ADHD as fuck’. You’re a doctor, that’s not appropriate language”

“This medication reduces a lot of my internal anxiety and let’s be be in control of my life. I had no idea normal people felt like this all the time”

So, please, tell us how neurodivergent traits all seem normal to you. And welcome to the club.

surewhynotlem,

You’re lucky to not have been exposed to those people.

But yes. Take him back by making him cute

surewhynotlem,

Nitro is shaping up to be a good alternative for enterprise needs. Not sure about the rest. They seem to have a strangle hold on the creative suite in the enterprise.

surewhynotlem,

If you’ve never watched the Poorly Drawn Lines cartoon, I recommend it. It’s short, but ridiculous.

surewhynotlem,

What was unemployment like? I’m about to be there soon for the first time ever.

surewhynotlem,

That’s the joke though. He makes the ridiculous claim that he has a taking cat. She’s skeptical. She sees evidence to make her think the guy is a fraud. SURPRISE, it’s a real talking cat. That’s the twist.

surewhynotlem,

It’s the paradox of tolerance sadly. If they insist on being tribal then they’re insisting of being removed from the whole. And I care about the whole.

surewhynotlem,

Yeah. That’s how Bernie keeps winning as an independent.

surewhynotlem,

I forgot how much I enjoyed that. Time for a rewatch!

surewhynotlem,

We can talk about cooperation and compromise as soon as the right starts doing it. For the last 40 years, the left is compromised and the right has dug in. This is dragged the country way farther right than we deserve.

surewhynotlem,

16/8? That’s basically just skipping breakfast and no snacking after dinner.

I use Brave to test whether my websites work on Chromium browsers, but their scummy actions lately make me want to find a new Chromium browser to test with. What's the best Chromium based browser?

I already use Firefox for browsing normally, but I have to test on a Chromium based browser too. One soft requirement is that it should be installable with Flatpak on Linux.

surewhynotlem,

I think there’s no good option. Your best bet is probably to run chrome in some sort of temporary vm so there’s nothing worth tracking. Maybe there’s a docker image with chrome ?

surewhynotlem,

Free at point of consumption is ALWAYS implied. In capitalism nothing can really be free

surewhynotlem,

We were playing lego and she destroyed my tower. Then she reprimanded me because I wasn't sad enough. So I spent the next 20 minutes rebuilding/breaking/me fake crying/repeat. It was, apparently, hilarious.
