Today, for the first time, I couldn’t use iplayer. As usual, I switched country to UK, cleared browsing data, deleted everything from temp app data file before going there. Was using Firefox. Tried same procedure with Epic browser. Same result. Chatted with Nord support. They wanted screenshots of results from dnsleaktest dot...
I love the idea of a privacy-focused fronend for YouTube, but every time I visit a piped link, it just spins forever. Both on my Linux desktop and my Android phone....
All the McD*nalds in my area have been upgraded with order kiosks. Regardless of all the controversy around self-checkout, and minimum wage, and automation taking our jobs, I personally love them. I can take my sweet time composing my order, I can see the full selection (such as it is), I can see pictures and prices clearly...
The McDonald’s kiosks are hands down the absolute fucking worst I’ve ever seen. With all the self checkout systems that work perfectly easily McDonald’s chose utter shite. I quit going just because of how shitty they are.
Just went down the aliexpress rabbit hole again. Theres really everythinf for some of really niche things that i wouldnt ever buy, but some things really do look appealing. I wonder what do you guys use daily thats worth lets say under $20
She is starting an online school program next semester and we will have to buy her a notebook. She has a Chromebook from the local public school system which she will have to return at the end of the year....
Oh I am doing just that, it is going to be a pain in the ass, but I am going to download the full library in FLAC format. And it not Epic anymore is Songster or something like that.
I just got to college in 2000 and had highspeed Napster. From there I found some sketch Russian site I could get music from for a few years in the early 2000s but there was also a huge used CD store in my college town with reasonable prices I used to frequent. Now days if I want to find a bunch of new music I dont know, Usenet for the win. But honestly most of the stuff I like is on bandcamp usually and I will go buy the bands I find on use net. My best discovery has been Brant Bjork (he played drums in Kyuss but makes chill ass rock) and PallBearer and Arkansas doom band that is pretty great. I have since purchased their catalogue on Vinyl, mostly on band camp because it is hard to find in stores.
That fucking album is proof there was hope, except it bankrupted London Records which killed Grotüs’ career. They are a dope ass band I found in a CD store with throwaway CDs for a dollar in 99. Definitely worth it for them. YouTube Grotüs’ Mass.
But they sure did by selling extra copies, plus if the game was good we’d buy it. I’m convinced the TG-16 never took off because they didn’t let places rent games.
Plus game rentals made owning a console more attractive and that means perhaps more potential sales for all games you’ve produced.
Short view you’re right, long view I think rentals helped the industry much more than hurt it back then.
I remember buying a book with the secrets of Super Mario Bros (and other NES) games typed backwards so you had to use a mirror to know how to warp from 1-2 to 4-2 to get to 8-1.
I doubt I’d have finished…but I’ve got a TG-16 I can’t beat anything on.
Honestly despite some decent points he kinda comes off as the first incel. We was all sorts of angry the girl he met while working for his brother (she did too,) rejected him. He never got over it and harassed her so much his brother fired him and he returned to the cabin.
He can be all 3, an incel, right about technology enslaving and destroying our collective knowledge and a goddamn monster for bombing people.
