Pretty much the title. I’ve been watching more realistic super hero shows like The Boys and Invincible. The reoccurring themes is that with great power comes great immorality....
I like a big bowl of Rogan Gosht with some chicken biryani (my wife’s fav) and loads of naan. I’m not refined lol, just like that lamb and that chicken saffron yogurty stuff.
fractals baby, it’s all procedurally generated here in the matrix.
and there’s a valid query regarding the world as simulation. but to take the leap from ‘this geology shares properties similar to this stump’ to 'damn, that was a big tree that grew out in the middle of this desert… well that takes drugs kids.
I don’t believe in those. For me, there’s no second chance, no reincarnation, no afterlife, no spiritual stuff, just complete void, no consciousness, and no need to deal with another shitty human in life ever again, which makes me excited about it.
Yup. I grieve, I grieve so often for the people in my life I’ve lost - both parents, my brother, and my mentor - in the last 10 years. But promising people bullshit based on sketchy suicidal shit is fucking vile - they’re preying on people who are at their lowest and shoveling dangerous, near suicidal ideology and pseudoscience. It’s gross.
Capitalism with the unionization rate of that time would be much better than what we have today.
True. And the taxes: Eisenhower individual income above $200,000 was taxed at 90%, above $300,000 at 91%, and above $400,000 at 92%. That’d trim Musk Bezos etc. down to size, fund education, fund social security etc.
Corporate taxes topped out at 52% - the tax rate was 30% for the first $25,000 in profits that a company made, and 52% for anything over that amount.
Even with inflation taken into account - $300,000 in 1950 = $3,772,843.22 in 2023… entire generations have been robbed by the right wing.

What's a sci-fi or fantasy book or series that you want to see adapted as a movie/television series?
I didn’t read this series when I was a kid, but I finally got around to reading Roger Zelazny’s Chronicles of Amber....
