it worked for me even with an internet connection, but you probably should still disconnect the internet while installing windows, you’ll get less bloatware
Microsoft account crap wasn’t as bad as it is in the most recent releases.
also win10 is the first version to introduce some significant changes that make windows so much less annoying to use and more unixy
i hate legacy windows stuff so fucking much but it’s kinda a miracle how they made it work out with windows 10
win11 settings app can do a lot on it’s own, most network settings can now be configured there (except if you need to configure some obscure protocol or sth) DHCP, DNS, static/dynamic ipv4/ipv6 options, DoH both per-adapter and per-network are there
my isp supports ipv6 but disables it in openwrt config.
i found a way to get root access to it and re-enabled it, seems to work just fine. the configuration is kinda fucked up but kinda works (dhcpv6, no slaac)
I’d rather just use the nu shell than tools like jq
i basically use it to write all of my scripts nowadays, it’s structured data approach is amazing (kinda similar to PowerShell, but done right)
spoof safety net or sth
there are ways to get gpay to work. also you may have more luck with lineageos and full system install of official, proprietary google services instead of graphene (but of course you’ll be sacrificing your privacy)
Windows
but used to be on Gnome Wayland, Arch
why did i go back? temporarily, just wanted to try out new windows stuff in windows 11, they actually improved the os quite a lot (package manager is a nice bonus feature).
Still going to return to linux eventually, probably to KDE 6 on Arch or Debian Sid once it’s released and stable
user-facing stuff you would commonly want to change?
yes, for example desktops like kde are extremely customizable, and that power is just a couple of clicks away.
on the other hand configuring internal stuff is jot intuitive at all.
slef hosted servers don’t solve cheating on their own either.
proper authoritive server shouldn’t send or accept any information that isn’t strictly necessary, like positions of players that are in a completely different part of the map

Those who tried Linux and went back to Windows, what caused you to go back to Windows?
Additionally, what changes are necessary for you to be able to use Linux full time?
