2024 is the Year of Linux on the Desktop, at least for my boyfriend. He’s running Windows 7 right now, so I’ll be switching him to Ubuntu in a few days. Ubuntu was chosen because Proton is officially supported in Ubuntu.
For example, I used to follow a lot of subreddits for individual YouTube content creators, however, Lemmy doesn’t really have the size or culture to support this currently.
Is it shallow, or petty, to decide based on name alone? Yeah, pretty much, but there’s probably something, a product or service or site, that the name has made you gloss right over it or jump to it ASAP....
There was an episode about people giving social credits to each other through an app which would affect their entire life, showing how such a technology could go horribly wrong.
They only post in their own communities on their own instance. You will only see their posts if you’re subscribed to those communities or browse All Why would you consider that spam?
