xpinchx, to memes in it's time

Anyone want to go for a walk after dinner? 😉🔥

xpinchx, to lemmyshitpost in Webcam repairman

My fiance is a store manager for a big box and it was closed for Thanksgiving. A passerby pries the door open and broke it, setting off the alarm and alerting the security company. I had to drive her out there and she spent Thanksgiving waiting for a door vendor to show up to repair it and sign off 🥲

That’s my story on how some entitled asshole ruined a family holiday for us.

Not to be confused with EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Velmas kind of a fox too with that bob.

xpinchx, (edited ) to lemmyshitpost in A good deal of IT work, too

Lol this applies to so many things. Maybe there’s some prestige to doing something for the first time, but really there were probably a dozen people that contemplated it and decided against it for good reasons.

xpinchx, to lemmyshitpost in If only it was like that

Perfect running weather.

xpinchx, to piracy in Amazon's Prime Video will start serving ads on January 29 unless you pay extra

There’s the next one on the chopping block. It’s kind of great and freeing cancelling all these subscriptions. Just one $5 payment per month to newsgroup ninja and i got everything. I’ve been holding on to prime and Netflix for convenience but honestly fuck them.

Wait, you guys are getting BJs?

xpinchx, to comicstrips in Out of sight, out of mind [ADHDinos]

But wait, you forgot your coffee. Go back inside, set the important thing down, get your coffee and lock up.

I swear ADHD is like life in hard mode sometimes.

xpinchx, to lemmyshitpost in the weirdest part of the year

It’s like a year’s worth of pent up desire for more free time, then we get it and have no clue what to do so we default to scrolling, YouTube, and enough weed to stay at least mildly stoned for a week. Then back to work like nothing happened, except nobody has been doing your work so you get to deal with whatever work picked up during that time.

xpinchx, to memes in Powered on, but the system's still starting up.

I do this but I drive to work and sit in my car until 8:05.

It takes so much energy to get moving j need serious consequences to motivate myself to work towards the door.

Edit: I don’t even hate my job I’m just so tired. There’s never enough time to do everything so when it’s morning I know I gotta deal with all the bullshit I didn’t finish the day before so I can start some fresh bullshit.

xpinchx, to memes in *sigh* *clack-a-clack-a-clack-a-clack*

I hate how most of my job is being a professional emailer.

xpinchx, to memes in No! No! I don't want to conduct performance reviews! You can't make me!

Yeah… I feel like I contributed so much more before but managing people, but this is where the money is sadly. I went from supply chain/purchasing/logistics manager to operations manager. I used to be a one man team and single handedly saved maybe $200k this year so far, and took our aged inventory from about $1M to basically nothing, all of our KPIs are primo. This is a company that pulls $10M/yr in revenue… small company.

I got rewarded with spending half my time babysitting the warehouse team, getting reamed by my boss when they’re not getting through things fast enough, and fixing their mistakes and bandaiding bad processes. But I got a 30% raise so I guess it’s worth it? I could be doing so much more.

xpinchx, to lemmyshitpost in A lesson in Input Validation

I have a friend that does IT/networking for a school district and he makes bank, YMMV.

xpinchx, to lemmyshitpost in Google "Work"space

For enterprise environments really nothing compares to MS. The whole suite of power apps shoots productivity through the roof. Power query, power automate, power apps, BI, etc. With Python integration I can do even more, I can automate most things and set up automations for non savvy peers.

By enterprise I just mean any business that deals with a lot of data, I work for a company with 15 people and we’d need probably 5 more if we were running on Google. 😂😂
