yeather, to memes in quick reminder

L take, communism and socialism don’t work and never will. There’s a reason every communist or socialist country has failed or fallen back into capitalism for the masses and authoritarianism for the top.

“During the years of Stalin’s reign, the Soviet nation made dramatic gains in literacy, industrial wages, health care, and women’s rights. These accomplishments usually go unmentioned when the Stalinist era is discussed. To say that “socialism doesn’t work” is to overlook the fact that it did. In Eastern Europe, Russia, China, Mongolia, North Korea, and Cuba, revolutionary communism created a life for the mass of people that was far better than the wretched existence they had endured under feudal lords, military bosses, foreign colonizers, and Western capitalists. The end result was a dramatic improvement in living conditions for hundreds of millions of people on a scale never before or since witnessed in history.” Michael Parenti, Blackshirts and Reds: Rational Fascism and the Overthrow of Communism

Think about it though. When people say they want to “code AI” what they typically mean is they want to play with prompts and waste electricity on garbage models, not actually write any of the underlying models that power AI.

Fantastic idea, although doesn’t seem to compensate their 69h week work

My local government (county and city) do this here in the US, it would be nice to see this on a state and federal level too though

A lot of people in the comments can’t seem to make the distinction between what they have been fed since they were little and that they are used to, and what is good, or tastes good.

abraxas,

Most people who eat meat also eat some subset of vegetables and know they like/hate some other subset of vegetables.

The human body loves getting addicted to the unhealthy sugar carbs found in some plants, but our taste buds do tend to have a healthier long-term relationship with the umami balance you get more easily from meats and seafoods.

We have a sapling that rises up every year out of the storm sewer. So tenacious. The root system on that bad boy must be super developed by no.

civilfolly,

Make a salt water solution, lots of salt in water. Then use a brush to brush on the solution to every leaf. Keep doing that for several days and it should die off. We did that one summer and it came back the next summer, did the same steps and has not returned since.

Apple isn’t losing here. Eu is forcing them to make better phones.

TimewornTraveler,

Um, what? Apple makes shitty design decisions to manipulate their consumer base. These regulations prevent them from doing that. These regulations mean the consumers win. Apple still has branded braindead consumers, but at least they went be able to scam them on batteries headphones and chargers as easily.

zephr_c, to linuxmemes in Bell curve of Linux distributions

Ubuntu ain’t what it used to be. If you want a simple distro nowadays just go straight to the source with Debian. There’s no real benefit to going with Ubuntu anymore, and community distros are just a safer bet. Corporate distros aren’t your friend.

KingOfPotatoes,

So does debian not have like 4 years old packages anymore in stable or do I have to live in bleeding edge unstable?
