Make poster: “In god we trust…”

Second line: “we pity fools”

And not a right triangle in sight. I forget, did Pythagoras develop Pythagorean theorem or the law of sines?

EatYouWell,

Well, he popularized it, but the Pythagoran theorem was something ancient civilizations had already figured out.

bdkmshr,

Documenter that documented their document gets the document credited to documenter

EatYouWell,

It’s really just whose discovery spread the fastest. There have been a few instances in history where parallel discoveries happened, but it got named after the guy who got it popularized fastest.

Plus, the records of the civilization that discovered it were lost for a few millenia. But it’s not the first thing that’s been rediscovered a few times.

DragonTypeWyvern,

Unless the “documenter” wasn’t a real person.

The Pythogean Cult is very fun reading.

Bottom right, the 3x3, 4x4 and 5x5 checker boards forms Pythagorean Triple Triangle.

Oh yeah! I see, you’re right.

Is the title not editable? The version I’m seeing on lemmy.world had me worried I was stroking out :/

Is there a translation for this headline? What the hell are they saying?

A very dull man indeed.

I swear, the moment I started subscribing to The Deprogram, and its hosts and some of the guests, YT started throwing Bencil Sharpener, Joe Brogan, and Lex into my feeds. I didn’t dog into him too terribly much, but I just assumed I was seeing his videos pop up for the same reason I saw the other two.

MeowZedong,
@MeowZedong@lemmygrad.ml avatar

I experienced the same thing. Thankfully it eventually stopped automatically feeding up his vids.

“Every tryangle…”, says man holding a prisma

smeg,

That’s not a prism, it’s a tetrahedron, the most triangular of the solids!

Absolutely!
Until the Golden Girls crossover of course.

is there not a mininum for shoplifting to be illegal ?

Crashumbc,

It would be state law depending.

Ashe,

Even if it is, “loss protection” departments now just track it until they have enough to make a charge stick. What a lot of corpos do is track theft though until they have enough incidents to exceed that threshold. This is tracked via loyalty cards, card numbers, facial recognition, and license plate readers.

Allegedly gait analysis could be used as well.

Kusimulkku,

Wouldn’t really matter in this sort of case where it’s a singular item and an accident. Unless they’re really forgetful

dystopian asf tactics… this mainly just affects poor people.

Ashe,

It’s part of why masks becoming commonplace during covid was so cool, and the epitome of freedom from that bullshit. But there was a crowd of people who constantly speak against their own best interests in the name of freedumb who said otherwise.

Bashir doing it is in character because he’s that kind of pedant.

Garak doing it is in character because throwing people’s behavior back at them is a power move.

How is this funny? It’s still religious doctrination. Oh I get it. Its a boomer catch phrase like “you couldn’t make this up”… Still not funny.

Its a pathetic liberal gotcha that fails to reconcile with the power of state government.

Either the sign goes up and some evangelicals vandalize it with impunity. Or the sign never goes up because school administrators don’t think the Texas AG will punish them for ignoring the law in this instance.

In this case, it doesn’t look like the flag was ever actually displayed.

Either way, evangelicals hold all the cards. Secular Liberals only manage to performatively protest in order to feel better.
