I basically only use my phone these days and when third party apps died so did Reddit to me.

I slowed down when the announcement was made about third party apps. I quit entirely when RIF turned off. Now I participate here, started my own community, contribute to others as much as I can, and finally figured out how to host my own instance. It’s been fun seeing it grow slowly.

In context, the person is saying they feel like they are wasting their life and that innumerable people in the past would’ve killed to have the kind of free time or life they have.

It reminds me to be grateful for both the time I have alive and the quality of that time.

I find it extremely motivating in pursuing my various personal pursuits. I should seem like a Renaissance master to the people of the past and anything less is insulting.

Nope. Gone all-in on Lemmy. Also used it as an opportunity to cull communities that I’d subscribed to ages ago and never got round to removing. Started from scratch and building my subscriptions again - quite therapeutic actually!

I only do when something spicy happens like all mods get demodded and see if they post a sticky to a new community like dndmemes did

I used Linux for maybe 15 years and I have to say I absolutely love it. I even attended Fedora Flock conference, I was really into all the FOSS world. But at some point I guess I got really tired of editing text files on a command line and googling to solve specific problems or just plain OS settings.

I can’t say that I don’t miss it though and especially more now than ever the itch is there and I am curious to install and use Linux again, so I dunno…

Mostly using libreddit, when I need to refer to a specific thread. Otherwise, most of my browsing is in Lemmy.

Support content seems to be most of what’s posted here now. It’s mind boggling really. A huge number of us are Reddit refugees and AskReddit was always about community engagement and not about support. I really don’t know what makes people think this is any different.
