I had to wait 6 years untill someone released a device that’s atleast in some aspects better than the one I already had. If I were forced to switch every year I’d hate most of them.
Reverend Insanity is probably a strong contender. The world building is super well done. The characters actually plot against each other. Not just the protagonist. It feels very lived in.
Princess bride the book. Indigo and fessik backstory. Parentheticals. The author tone and style is so much fun.
One of the first things that popped in my head was this web series called Worm by Wildbow.
There was an epic moment there an Endbringer and Scion that still lives rent free in my mind. I remembered shedding a tear because of how awesome that moment was.
Another was my experience in watching The Disapperance of Haruhi Suzumiya. Right now I don’t even know why it was such a great experience but I’ve been chasing that high ever since.
Still rocking my iPhone 7, and I’m planning on using it until it completely gives out. I agree that there’s very little reason to get a new phone, these days pretty much all of the improvements are just incremental and have no effect on the basic functions—calls, texts, web browsing, etc. Hell, even the fancy new cameras aren’t really needed, past 12mp (~4K) your camera quality doesn’t really make a big impact on image quality (most people have 1080p or 2k displays anyways) and you can only get so far with multiple lenses and AI stuff.
Hottest: 42C humid - horrible sensation, would never want to experience it again, but looks like we’re almost there again
Coldest: -27C - wasn’t nice, but not worse than -15C with high winds!
Oregon Trail on Apple IIGS. I was in elementary school, and those particular Apple computers were already outdated by the time we got a hold of them, but we were from a poor county, and by god it was some great fun. We would have little competitions to see who could get the furthest without having their whole party die.
I can vouch for the iPad + Apple Pencil + GoodNotes combo. I‘m using this multiple hours a day for university. The iPad also would be the most versatile device for watching a movie, playing a game etc.
You can also get other tablets but in my experience the writing experience isn’t as good as the iPad.
If you want to do mostly reading, an e-ink display will be nicer on the eyes, but you loose general functionality.
