LuckyLu, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

The system was a PS2. I think the first games I played personally would have been Ratchet and Clank or some licensed Disney shit like Peter Pan or Cars.

ChrisFhey, in What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?
@ChrisFhey@kbin.social avatar

Hottest was around 50°C, which was surprisingly bearable but I do like warmth, so there's that.

Coldest around -10°C, and hated every second of it. Cold is my arch nemesis.

thisowlis, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

Super Mario Land on the original Gameboy.

I invested so much time in this game as a kid and when i replayed it some years ago i was shocked at how short it actually is…

crossfadedragon,

i was put off by it myself because of the graphic style. i beat it but liked mario land 2, and wario land more.

Hillock, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

I am not sure which I played first but the most memorable ones are Bubble Bobble for the C64 or Goriallas on a really old DOS PC. Putting in really high velocity numbers to make the exploding banana fly through the building rather than trying to figure out an arch was my favorite strategy.

Albinoss, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

My first one was NES. I was just the right age in the late 80s to be caught in all of it. Funny thing is, I don’t remember asking for it. I think my parents just got me one, but I fell in love with games from that point on.

Heck, my second system was the Genesis, and I didn’t ask, or know about it, either! One of the best memories I have of growing up.

Went to the movies with family friends. When I came back, my dad had set up the Genesis and had Altered Beast playing on the tv. Coming from only knowing the NES, my mind was blown.

Thanks for the excuse to walk down memory lane.

crossfadedragon,

i was mainly into nintendo growing up, except for ps2. dark cloud was awesome. music was catchy but i loved how the weapon system worked.

my favorite memory was getting n64 for christmas. stayed up all night playing san fran cisco rush with my brother.

My earliest memory is playing either Chase HQ or Kinnikuman Muscle Tag on the Famicom.

SpaceNoodle, in How old are we here?

Huh? What’s your intention, for everyone to comment their range? How would that be anonymous?

You need seven comments, 0-6, and their upvotes can act as anonymous counters.

mvirts,

Don’t forget upvotes aren’t necessarily anonymous

SpaceNoodle,

How so?

IHateRedditAndSpez,

the admins of your instance can see your up-/downvotes and other actions you perform.

SpaceNoodle,

Well that’s a design flaw

IHateRedditAndSpez,

it’s the same on Reddit and any other social media platform. someone has to host and manage the servers.

SpaceNoodle,

Just let AI do it!

mvirts,

You can call me Al

SpaceNoodle,

I can call you Betty

Azeon, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

Gameboy Pocket with Pokemon Blue. I may have played Space Cadet on a PC before I got my Gameboy, not sure.

kamiheku, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

Mine was an IBM 286 system. Played Commander Keen, Jill of the Jungle, Duke Nukem (1)… It was magical.

JWBananas, in What's the point of buying new phones every years?
@JWBananas@kbin.social avatar

I generally start looking to replace mine around the time that Google Maps starts becoming laggy. That's usually around the 3 year mark for me. After 4 years things get pretty bad.

Nexus 5 -> Pixel 2 -> Pixel 6a

Practically every app update grows its respective compute and memory footprint. And over time, it adds up. Combine that with the big jumps in resource usage that come with OS updates, and eventually things just start slowing down.

LateralUS_DwD, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

First console was an NES! First games I remember playing were Ghostbusters and the TMNT arcade game. First time I fell in love with a video game...FF7. I'm excited for Rebirth to come out some day lol

crossfadedragon,

i played ghostbusters on c64, had a lot fun playing it.

xkforce, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

The first computer game I played was Scarab of Ra on a macintosh 512k. The first console game I played was Super Mario Bros 3 on NES.

youngalfred, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

The earliest game I remember is Dangerous Dave that I think was on a 386.

Either that or Gorillas, a DOS game on a similar system. Still remember having to park the heads!

Pilkins, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

Super Mario World! My grandma bought a SNES for her grand children but only has SMW and Wheel of Fortune lol

marito,

I still remember the Xmas we got the SNES. We stayed up until 3 AM playing SMW.
