pensivepangolin, in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?

If you mean in a gym? I hate the gym and am one of the people that only likes the effects.

If you mean outdoors, like cycling or running or hiking, then oh yeah! It’s fun to lose yourself in the action: it’s meditative as the physical action is repetitive and it allows you to just take in your scenery and let your mind wander freely.

DevOps?

Okay, I don’t really know what DevOps means or is. I’ll have to search on this one. Thank you for giving me something to consider. 👍

DevOps is fun and you’ll learn a lot in a short amount of time. You will have to learn a bunch of stuff about automation, how different technologies are built and deployed, source control, etc. It’s a steep learning curve but awesome if you’re up to the challenge. It is never boring. I’ve been working on DevOps processes since before it was called DevOps. I’ve always been happy to be in this sector. Keep in mind that there is no set definition for DevOps. Some purists will argue what I do, setting up the tools and automation then let the devs do their thing, is not DevOps. They might believe that DevOps means developers set everything up and support everything. Of course, that doesn’t scale. Other companies just rebrand build engineers as DevOps. That’s about the most boring thing I can think of, besides QA. :-) Good luck!

cyborganism,

No. I switched to DevOps and it’s worse.

quindraco, in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?

Working out is pain and suffering, but you can get so used to it you don’t notice/mind the pain.

-hypnotoad-, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

My first memory was "hey, who chewed up this Atari 2600 controller?" Before realizing it was me...guess I was just forming memories at the time.

plutolink, in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?

Yes, I love it. I feel that enjoying it comes with a few factors: knowing what you’re doing is correct and maximizing each workout, and a shift in mindset that the “dread” of it doesn’t actually have to be dread, which takes time to shift your head into as you get familiar. Of course, there are days where I’d rather not go, but showing up for the ritual is what matters, at that point. To get the post-workout high, you have to push yourself adequately to feel it. It doesn’t have to be equal intensity of it afterward every single time, but it’s a good sign that you’ve worked out really well.

*Checks comments. Hmm, Bitwarden, Bitwarden, another Bitwarden.

Probably had to be Goldeneye on the N64. Split screen with my cousins.

But the first game I really played by myself was Link’s Awakening DX on the GameBoy Color.

Honorable mention for Pokémon Gold.

Edit: Just remembered Humongous Entertainment. Freddie Fish, Pajama Sam, Spy Fox on the PC.

Backyard Baseball. The original Super Smash Brothers on N64. Super Mario Bros Deluxe on Gameboy color. Perfect Dark on N64. OK I’m done for now 😅

Gratifying to see all the love for Bitwarden!

Blizzard, (edited ) in Do I need to remove metadata from pictures before uploading?

I’d disable attaching metadata to pictures in your phone setting in the first place, especially location.

TheKingBee, in Why is youtube recommending conservative "talking points" to me?
@TheKingBee@lemmy.world avatar

You need to train your algorithm.

When you hover over those videos there will be three dots in the lower right hand corner use either not interested or don’t recommend this channel to clear the right wing trash from your feed.

On videos you do like you need to do some engagement, watch complete videos, thumbs up (or down it doesn’t matter) and comment.

Do that for a few days and your feed should clear up.

ketcham1009,
@ketcham1009@lemmy.ml avatar

And make sure to turn off The setting that auto plays the videos in browser if you mouse over them (don’t remember the setting’s name). Hovering your mouse over it counts as you watching/playing the video if the setting is on.

xthedeerlordx,

your feed should clear up.

This works for like a few days, then inevitably the cycle begins again…

I’m a daily youtube user and this has been not been the case for me.

My feed, outside the occasional straggler, is pretty free of nonsense.

  1. Make sure the time and timezone is correctly set on your device, TOTP is time-dependent and both the server and the smartphone needs to have the same time in order to validate the code.
  2. Lemmy uses SHA256 instead of SHA1 like most other websites using TOTP. Honestly I’m not sure Google Authenticator supports it, as I don’t see the option when attempting to add a key manually.
