Other than a few people who work for Reddit, basically everyone was blindsided by Reddit doing the API thing with such short notice. There's all of like two people developing Lemmy, one also is responsible for the Jeroba app and I think the lemmy.ml instance, and thousands of people just showed up and started trying to use various instances including having so many people sign up for Lemmy.ml it had stability issues. Apparently Reddit managed to hug itself to death during the Digg Exodus, it's not a big surprise it's happening here too and I think Reddit was a bit bigger than Lemmy when shit hit the fan on the previous platforms. There's some growing pains and some problems to work though, but the big ones like the scrolling thing will likely be solved fairly quickly.
There is a balance of money and time there are diminishing returns on money. Time is the one thing you cant get back. So if you are given of a choice of a solid paying job with solid PTO or a amazing paying job with little PTO or the expectations of 50-60+ hours weeks, that solid paying job is gonna be worth it every time.
May I suggest to get a foldable potty instead? They are super light and the size of an original Gameboy when folded. Combined with plastic bags and silicapowder (do not eat) it will help you stay healthy instead of dehydrated and constipated. If amazon is not fast enough, check the nearest baby mart. If you are just shy, there are also foldable privacy shields (camping section) available to let you do your business with privacy.
Because everything is small and manageable for mods right now, and everyone is talking to everyone else.
Lemmy also has the advantage that the default "hot" sort favors recency instead of upvotes so that you can get into a thread pretty late and still have your comments be seen.
@nieceandtows I honestly think this would be doable and maybe worth perusing. I wonder who has the most contacts with Hollywood to make something like this happen
Double check that newly installed clothes washer actually has the drain line properly connected. If you don't know how to check it, have someone else do it for you.
The code is open source, so you can inspect it yourself.
I doubt there's much incentive for Devs to implement features that would make Lemmy more facebook-like. There's no profit motive for it, and there are lots of other features and bug fixes that deserve their attention.
I haven't eaten fibre for a while to prepare for this. I don't mind severe constipation but i just need to get through those 3 days without pooping. Also not going on a hike idk why everyone is assuming that. Anyways, thanks.
