Most instances seem to be putting a lot of emphasis on their code of conduct specifically in regard to insults and harassment. I’m not against that and i understand the concept of “your server your rules” but i’m just curious to understand why many are so concerned with slurs while they don’t seem to care much about...

I stopped drinking alcohol some years ago. Before that I hardly consumed any alcohol at all for many years, but in my college years and maybe some years after that, I drank socially like “everybody else”. My pick would be, dealing with the ‘wild west’ atmosphere. That being, before cyber bullying laws existed, you had bunches of people getting off scot-free with telling you to off yourself or call you a list of derogatory terms.
