SattaRIP, in Your greatest weakness becomes your greatest strength. How is your life different?
@SattaRIP@kbin.social avatar

I become capable of doing everything I want to, when I want to do it, instead of overthinking and second guessing myself.

I then work my way up to becoming an uploaded intelligence and abolishing capitalism. /s

Rhynoplaz, (edited ) in Why are there so many apps that could be websites?

Sometimes they can get more data out of your phone through an app then through your default browser.

Or feed you more ads.

breadsmasher, in Do you know any file hosting sites with a good privacy policy?
@breadsmasher@lemmy.world avatar

What would you consider a good privacy policy? Like what specifically would you want to see?

Everythingispenguins, in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?

Yeah they do. I live somewhere where they are adding a lot to the bluffs in the area it is not as pretty as it was before. But so does the giant ass strip mine nearby. It is just that the mine has been here longer than most of the people so they think of it as part of the landscape. Instead of the giant ass hole in the ground full of toxic water that it is.

NorthWestWind, in Your greatest weakness becomes your greatest strength. How is your life different?

I break everything I touch -> I fix everything I touch

The other day I saw the clock in the bathroom stop working. I swapped the batteries and it stopped working entirely.

dfc09, in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?

I live in the middle of a sprawling wind farm. Every direction I turn, I can see wind turbines looking ominously over my neighbor’s houses. It’s awesome, and way more interesting than the hundreds of square miles of corn fields they otherwise occupy.

IWantToFuckSpez, in What sci-fi-esque inventions are the most plausible and could happen soonest?

Quantum computing and CPUs that use photons instead of electrons.

stoy, in Have you ever failed at something? How did you get back up after that?

It has been said that you only really fail if you don’t learn from the experience, this is true in most cases, escpacially those that makes you ask this question.

So to answer your question, you learn snd show others that you have learned.

Say you are working a papermill and you make a misstake causing and entire batch of product worth €5000000 to be ruined, a bad manager would just fire you, a good manager would understand that he just spent €5000000 training you not to do that, and that training would stick, and keep you.

PixellatedDave, in What's the best music streaming service?

I like Qobuz. I find it really good quality through my home hifi and I can purchase from their site too. There is a bundle where you get discounts on the purchase with the sub. Music is really important to me so this is the only thing I sub too.

One of the big benefits for me is that it offers gapless playback. Also I find it the “best” quality and for context I am streaming through a Cambridge CXN V2 into a Musical Fidelity M6si and into a pair of Kef ls50’s with a couple of REL subs.

stoy, in What is the least shit online store of the shitty ones? such as: Wish, AliExpress, etc..

Limmared.nu is a small radio supply shop in Limmared that have great ratings and works well.

Apotea.se is an excellent online pharmacy, with quick delivery times.

Inet.se is an excellent computer store, they have physical locations in Stockholm and Gothemburg.

Dewded, in Why are there so many apps that could be websites?

I believe Spotify did this back in the day in order to hide as much of their AB testing from Apple who is essentially a competitor due to iTunes.

Having much of the UI delivered via web also makes it easier to deploy updates as no software update is necessary.

Matombo, in What is the least shit online store of the shitty ones? such as: Wish, AliExpress, etc..

Aliexpress surpassed amazon, change my mind

angstylittlecatboy, in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?

I’ve never seen a wind turbine in person but I’d imagine no more than buildings and a lot less than most other power sources.

PonyOfWar, in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?

No, I like them. They bring some variety to landscapes. Many people here hate them though.

lud, in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?

Nah, they are cool.
