Yes, but not much more than any other man-made construction. I can see windmills from my appartement and they have never even bothered me a little. However if my view was a beautiful tolkienesque landscape they probably would stand out like a sore thumb.
I’m very forgetful, so I guess in this scenario I have an eidetic memory. I become one of those weird guys who wins every game show due to my fantastic recall of everything I’ve ever read, seen or heard.
I use Sync but I haven’t paid for it. I turned off all the options in the cookie banner so all I see is a grey box where ads would be and you quickly just don’t even see it after a lot of use.
If it were a one off payment of like £5 I’d pay it, I bought it for Reddit, but I can’t justify the cost.
If you’re a really heavy user then it might be worth it but there’s so many great alternatives out there then I think it’s hard to justify.
A little bit, in the same way that any man made structure does. But they’re quite peaceful to look at and compared to a nuclear or coal plant they’re way better to look at.
I wouldn’t like to see them in an area of outstanding beauty, but I’m cool with them anywhere else.
Slight nitpick: they’re wind turbines, not windmills. Windmills are used to grind things down, like wheat into flour.
OH sorry I read your comment too fast lol. For that I used lemmy migrate on GitHub, I have about 5 accounts across different instances and they all have mostly the same communities subscribed. I just go in and resync if I’ve subbed to any new ones lately, and it’ll tell you which ones don’t sync (like if one’s defederated or blocked or something in other instances).
Well they look farrr better than coal mines and plants and smoke plumes. Even beyond that I think they just look plain nice though, like when I rarely get to see some it makes me happy.
