Would be in a bad shape but not dead probably.

It was upgraded - it is up but looks like it isn’t if you were logged on previously. If you clear cookies it should work again.

TIN,

I had the same coming through the Connect app - lots of API errors and not responding issues.

In classic style, logging out and logging in has fixed it!

Shepy,

This sorted it, thanks very much. I had tried it with both direct and alexandrite so i thought it something more serious than a simple cookie clear so didnt even try that

AcesFullOfKings,

urgh, great. Thanks! I’ve not been able to get in for days but this sorted it. I assumed it was just another extended outage of that instance.

@i_am_not_a_robot@feddit.uk avatar

Yeah, it’s a bit odd how it looks like it’s broken, it was working for me randomly and then I worked out I needed to clear cookies.

eldoom, in What are some good items to put in a cold weather care kit to hand out to Homeless folks in my city?

Sterno. That stuff saved my life when I was homeless.

Grayox,
@Grayox@lemmy.ml avatar

Had never heard of those, will be sure to include them!!

Toes, (edited ) in If the human body didn't heal itself, how'd you be doing rn?

I’d be deaf, lame and have multiple missing fingers and toes.

Ran through a bunch of busted glass as a kid with bare feet, plus a bike accident.

RedditWanderer, in The 2024 US Presidential race officially starts Monday, what are your predictions for Iowa?

The old demented dude is going to win

drog4fun, in What's some amazing technology they have in Japan that's very normal to them but would blow our minds here in the US and western world?

Hot coffee in a can that tastes great

zipzoopaboop,

From a vending machine

SkippingRelax,

Nice try, but those wont fit in backpacks.

bobsuruncle, in Folks in North America, where do you like to get PC parts online these days?

Try using pcpartpicker.com. You can do your build on the site and it will list the best deals for the components you choose. As a bonus it will check to see if there are some glaring incompatibilities at the same time.

LinkOpensChest_wav,

I love this site so much. As someone who’s not got much of a tech backgroung, it’s been massively helpful in building and upgrading my PCs.

ALostInquirer,

As a bonus it will check to see if there are some glaring incompatibilities at the same time.

I’d heard of the site but for some reason I’d forgotten this part. I’ll definitely use it for that at a minimum (and maybe for sourcing parts as well depending!), as I have a habit of missing some tiny detail that happens to relate to compatibility.

LemmyKnowsBest, (edited ) in If you had to restart your job at your current employer, what would you do differently?

Stop acting like I’m worthless with low self-esteem. I don’t know why I present myself that way. I’m a valuable competent skilled employee who passes background checks squeaky clean. Someone smack me and tell me to present myself as I deserve.

I even declined the hiring bonus because I felt unworthy of it although I meet all the criteria for it 🤦‍♀️ But really what I did was tell my managers that I’d rather be given the hiring bonus after I’ve been there a year because I’ve heard that some companies have a stipulation in the contract of hiring bonuses that should anything happen within the first year of my employment that causes me to stop working there, I would have to repay the bonus, so I kept it in mind that if I ever got a job that promised a hiring bonus, I would discuss it with the manager to have the bonus given to me at the end of a year. well I told my managers this and they told me I would have to talk to a higher up manager about it and they told me her name but I forgot, and they didn’t even look me in the eye when they said this and I just kind of never followed up on it.

PatFussy,

Can I have your hiring bonus?

LemmyKnowsBest,

No. It’s not even very much. Anyway I guarantee I need it and would appreciate it more than any random internet stranger asking me to hand it over to them.

PatFussy,

Ok now im not asking 🔫

200ok,

I hate how being humble and having integrity can translate to being taken advantage of in a toxic relationship.

Femcowboy, in How Many Streaming Services Do You Have?
  1. I don’t have a Plex server or anything like that, which I honestly should get, but I simply just use free streaming websites like 123.movies. Movies-web.app was great but has had some issues recently. I hope they get it/or already have it fixed because it was a very nice, pop-up free experience when it was working.
ImpossibilityBox, in What prevents you from going to bed early?

Currently? Back pain.

But in general my brain is dumb and does some dumb stuff.

The other night I wanted a nice cup of earl grey lavender tea to help me relax because I couldn’t fall asleep. Problem being was we had ran out of loose leaf tea bags. I dug out the small box of tea strainers we have collected over the year only to find out one hadn’t been properly cleaned and was slightly moldy. Others were surface rusted or tarnished.

My sleep deprived brain decided that the best decision was to pull out the dental picks, dremel tool, and other cleaning picks to get these tea strainers in tip top shape.

This is how my wife found me sitting on a bar stool hunched over the kitchen sink deep cleaning tea strainers at 3:30 in the morning.

Wahots, in What's some amazing technology they have in Japan that's very normal to them but would blow our minds here in the US and western world?
@Wahots@pawb.social avatar

Bidets. General cleanliness everywhere, kinda like what we had when everyone was cleaning like crazy during the pandemic, but even more so.

GiddyGap,

I believe the bidet is actually French. I assume that counts as the “Western world.”

PM_Your_Nudes_Please,

Probably helps that kids are instilled with a sense of cleanliness at a very young age. Kids help cook school lunches on a rotating schedule, and everyone helps clean up afterwards. Litter is also a big social taboo (which is funny because public trash cans are basically nonexistent. You’re expected to carry your trash with you until you get home.)

intensely_human,

The cleanliness of Tokyo is mind blowing.

KinglyWeevil,

Saw a video from Denmark I think where everyone is biking everywhere and the metro station has an enormous numbered rack for depositing bicycles for storage. The entire thing is spotless, well maintained, and has zero graffiti.

All I could think is that in the US the fabric of our society and the integrity of the social contract is so degraded that even if we somehow had the political capital to build it - it would be destroyed by individual anti-social behaviors. And we’d certainly never have the wherewithal to maintain or repair it.

Eyelessoozeguy,

I think the problem would be not considering the upkeep. Just look at the roads in the US, individual anti-social behavior didnt graffiti those potholes.

jacktherippah, in If the human body didn't heal itself, how'd you be doing rn?

Very dead.
