She’s only there because fans wanted Jon to be less lonely. Fairly sure it didn’t work 😅

It was also one of the few women in Garfield as well. I do agree though. Any interaction that Jon and Liz had usually resulted in Jon getting shot down. edit: a review of several different comics will show that a few dates turned out better than I remember.

Depending on the story arc, she does eventually fall in love with him and they get married. If the comic strips are the only thing that you consider canon, then no. Nothing more than a few dates.

I have a vague memory of Liz showing up somewhere in Garfield’s 9 Lives, but I no longer have a copy of that and I only lightly considered it canon.

Fridgeratr, in Legacy by HannahHillam

Is this the original?? I’ve seen so many edits of this, I can’t believe it’s the real thing!

Hey @MrLovenstein I posted your comic in the c/comicstrips community on lemmy.world and it gained quite some traction. Thought I let you know. Love your art! lemmy.world/post/6793710

Laziness is a myth

fosforus,

You should check out how my workdays go. They’re mythological!

Everythingispenguins, (edited )

It truly is if someone is not understanding how much of it is a myth. Look up the “Protestant Work Ethic” and how this has been used to justify wealth gaps and labeling the poor as lazy. It is so ingrained that many people don’t even know that it is a thing and still believe it

Spelling

irmoz,

Exactly, nice to see someone else has seen the truth. The Protestant Work Ethic is poison.

Spazz, in Rigged

Hurr de durr, just try harder, bootstraps!

fosforus,

This but unironically

I used to see Everett True every day on Reddit’s vintage comics subreddit. Fun to see him again!

The style looks familiar to me, but I guess I had never heard the name before now. Found this one circling around, and I love seeing old comics.
