OpenSuse Tumbleweed without a doubt!

BlanK0, (edited ) in how do i transfer files via usb c cable from a pixel 6a (grapheneos) to linux mint?

There is a package called android-transfer-file or something like that in the void repos but I’m not sure if its also in the mint repos, might be worth checking, its a gui app that makes it very straightforward to transfer files. Or in last resort you can always git clone the project and use ‘make’ to build manually the app

KrapKake, in In-progress COSMIC apps: terminal, file manager, text editor, and settings

PanArab, in Some of y'all need to see this and drop the superiority complex...

That’s nothing! Darwin is on version 23.

Between this and KDE 6, it’s going to be a great year for the Linux desktop experience.

wmassingham, in What's your experiences with Debian and Rocky as a homeserver OS?

I’ve been using Alma for a while and been happy with it. Like RHEL types, it’s slightly behind on versioning, but that’s by design.

nbailey, (edited ) in Help with dbus after archlinux upgrade
@nbailey@lemmy.ca avatar

Not an arch user, but it’s possible they moved dbus to a user scoped unit now. Might be possible to start it like this (or something similar)

systemctl —user start dbus.service

joojmachine, in The Star Labs StarBook is Qubes-Certified!

that’s great, but is it forklift certified?

Vitaly, in When Windows 10 dies, I am going to jump ship over to Linux. Which version would you recommend for someone with zero prior experience with Linux? **Edit: Linux Mint it shall be.**
@Vitaly@feddit.uk avatar

Pop OS is great because of up to date kernel and drivers, and they even have a specific version created for nvidia gpus, on disadvantage is that gnome version is a bit old, but its very stable at least

independantiste, in Introducing Spiel
@independantiste@sh.itjust.works avatar

Cool, TTS on Linux is in a very rough spot at the moment

BlanK0, in Distro for POS

Maybe debian or fedora, something that isn’t too advanced
