Nope, not worth it. I’ve stopped trying to convince others to be considerate in public. They’ll either ignore you or blow up and get aggressive. I’d rather just try to ignore them myself and move on with my life.
And at the end of the day, I’m also not some authority figure like their mom or dad; I’m nobody to them. As much as I may not always like it, strangers don’t owe me anything, including their consideration.
Strangers who use public spaces absolutely owe other people their consideration. It’s part of the price of admission to a public space. It’s not enforceable in practice but I’d be surprised if a certain level of being inconsiderate is even legal in most public spaces.
I don’t disagree with that in theory, but like you pointed out… Who’s going to enforce it in practice? Shouldn’t have to be me, or anyone else who doesn’t work for public transit.
Obviously there’s a point where I’d say something if a person was being truly inappropriate, but I’m not risking my neck over music on a bus.
How is this not enforceable ? When someone is way to loud, drunk, promesticutus or drunk in the public space, you can call the police. Of course, there is appropiate mesures so police won’t come for music that is merelly loud but appropriate public behaviour is indeed enforced.
Where I live, the police only do something about it if they’ve been called multiple times and are annoyed. Which just encourages people to report it immediately instead of when they actually need the noise to stop.
There are adult people alive right now who save things in software with a button that looks like a floppy disk without even knowing what it is. It will become part of normal language as just another word who's origin was forgotten. Just like we still "tape" and "film" things with digital cameras.
Are the pills binary? Because I wouldn’t want to rewind to far before either shacking up with, or maybe meeting, my girl. And all the fun things I would wish upon every iteration of myself that I’m doing now are things I’d started with in adulthood.
I’d only really be interested in taking about a third of a red pill, since that’d probably take me back to after I started most of these fun things.
If I’d be required to take whole pills, I’d take the blue one.
The ambiguous ones at least have some discussion around it. The ones I’ve seen thenxouple times I had the misfortune of seeing them on Facebook were just straight up basic order of operations questions. They weren’t ambiguous, they were about a 4th grade math level, and all thenpeople from my high-school that complain that school never taught them anything were completely failing to get it.
I’m talking like 4+1x2 and a bunch of people were saying it was 10.
I love how everyone here are just saying to pirate. I wonder if someone made one streaming platform to rule them all. I’m talking no ads, no missing parts, no extra fees, no shitty quality streams. Would people still pirate, as they just bearly reached what piracy offers, or would ppl just be happy that they can pay and then actually watch shows?
When there was basically only Netflix I paid for it and almost completely stopped pirating. Now I have acces to Netflix, Disney, prime(Disney and prime by password sharing) and I again started pirating years ago.
I for sure pay €20 for one service with almost everything, no ads and decent quality. Then I again stop pirating
Netflix used to be that and everyone bought the hell out of it. Then it enshittened and all the shows moved to proprietary platforms and now you need 19 subscriptions to get a selection of shows you care about. No thanks.
There are powerful lessons to be learned from the successes of Steam and Spotify if only the relevant people look and listen.
For games, I still pirate them for a couple of reasons, one of them being monetary. However, if the game is good, I buy the game afterwards to support the developers, and if it's bad, they won't see a dime from me. I might be a pirate, but I have honor.
Would people still pirate, as they just bearly reached what piracy offers, or would ppl just be happy that they can pay and then actually watch shows?
It’s not an either or thing. No matter what, some people will pirate. No matter what, some people will choose to pay. Those aren’t even mutually exclusive, some people will pirate and pay.
You are right, not even arguing this. But I ment like the ratio then. Caz I feel like it’d make more people pay, but you can’t unteach the masses of how easy it is to pirate, so the damage might be permanent.
This is why I only get into old, long finished shows. Who tf is gonna cancel Witch Hunter Robin before I finish watching it? Is Sunrise gonna find animeflix’s server rooms and light em on fire?
