Lemmy really feels like early Reddit right now. I mean that in a good way. And not to flex but I’m saying that as someone with a 16 year old Reddit account haha.
Same here. I feel Reddit changed for the worse so slowly that I had completely forgotten what the glory days were like until I came to Lemmy. I forgot that there was actual discussion in the comments rather than the same ten lazy comments ad naseum.
I’m kinda surprised Lemmy is losing users since it feels like there is more engagement since I joined earlier this year.
i can’t definitively say the bots are keeping reddit afloat, but its the bots keeping reddit afloat. before i left the anime memes sub (the normal one, not one of the infinite crappy off shoots) was nothing but bots.
I mean even C++11 is a significantly different creature from OG C++. C++23 will have monadic optionals; maybe a future release will have generalized monads.
It’s the trolley problem. Picking up a kid in time to beat a speeding train would just snap his little neck. Stopping a speeding train to save the little boy would most likely kill anyone on board.
This scenario indicates superman would rather kill a train full of people, rather than having witnesses see him sit idle as a child removes himself from the gene pool.
My hypothesis is that this is the child of Lex Luther, or possibly a clone. He’s literally playing on train train tracks, baiting super man into a win-less scenario via the trolley problem. It’s the perfect scheme to slowly make him question the consequences of all his actions and eventually his entire purpose.
AI generated or human artwork created CP is also kind of debatable in terms of harm causing vs potential harm reduction. (IE the question is, does availability of fake CP in which no one is harmed in the making of it, lessen or raise the amount of actual offenders).
Misinformation, scams etc… all just as likely to happen via shops of cheap labor
The problems of AI that I believe this post is talking about, are the labor displacement issues, IE when AI gets good enough to outperform humans at tasks… how will the economy deal with unemployable people. Which is a specifically capitalism problem. IE the fact that work is based on supply/demand… and lowering the supply of work while keeping peoples demand of needing income… leads to people starving to death.
Yep. I like computer gear. The worst gifts are some niche crap like weird USB drives that I don’t need. Slightly better are gift cards to Best buy - but really the gear I need you can’t find there.
Socks are universal. Socks are love. Give me socks, then I don’t have to spend my money on socks.
Maybe her third thumb is just a little slender. If I position my hand like that, I can almost reach. I don’t think hands with those proportions would be impossible. It’s probably a little wonky genetically, being her third arm and all.
Truth! I don’t understand a lot of the comments around people’s 30s. Maybe I’m lucky but turning 38 soon, feels physically the same as my 20s except now I have money for fun stuff
I mean that’s contextual, I didn’t have Parkinson’s symptoms at 34 but I do at 35 so for some people it quite literally is all downhill and 30 might honestly be old and that’s ignoring the homeless etc.
