[Billionaire Taylor] Swift, who has publicly aligned herself with the pro-choice movement and declared her opposition to former President Donald Trump, has become the ire of a vocal group of conservatives hell-bent on the bizarre notion that the singer is a political weapon aimed at the upcoming presidential election.
I mean, I’m no Swiftie, but that seems pretty reasonable to me…
Sounds like something a geoblock could have dealt with, but they likely weren’t ready to put it in place so this was the easiest solution to be in compliance.
I’ve never said that, I’ve said that it would be a better option than pulling out the article worldwide. A geoblock would ensure the article remains available outside of India, and could be retrieved somewhat trivially through a VPN or a proxy, making Reuters in compliance of the court order, which only applies within India’s border. It’s definitely better than not complying, which would lead to Reuters office in India being shut down and risking some of their employees going to jail for not respecting a court order.
Reuters is appealing the decision, but for now they have to comply.
Indian courts are fellating the current govt. hard so complying with their orders is akin to giving their govt. a free pass to suppress dissent and arrest civilians under their notorious UAPA. They use their “enforcement directorate”(shortened to ED) as whips to keep people in line. ED and courts are the lapdog of their government.
Agreed however stimulation was put forth as something that would require evidence whereas a God needs faith which requires blind trust and the lack of evidence. You are not allowed to even try to test if a god exists because that itself is a lack of faith.
If you try to prove the existence of a god then you do not have faith so you are not a believer. Having faith in itself means evidence has no value for you.
Tip your building superintendent this Christmas, they’re actually on the top 10 list of dangerous jobs in North America, like 10 spots above cops. I’ve done the job and it’s high risk of ergonomic injury, as well as accidents, and working alone makes it even more hazardous. You can get sick from the job, get crushed by garbage bins, electrocuted, poisoned, gased, burned, fall off a ladder or worse, and it’s low pay.
Don’t forget the fact that despite it’s just a cheeseburger, it’s named “The Vonderbilt Wonder”, “Halfsie Pattsies”, or “Edmonton the Second”. Ideally on a menu so scant on details it’s hard to tell the french fries from the extra avocado.
Reminds me of that one joke from What Men Think About.
“In our restaurant, dry bread is called a crouton. It is still the same piece of slightly fried bread, but dry bread cannot cost 8 dollars, whereas a crouton can.”
I will always point out with this meme that there is no need to say “with ribosomes attached to it” if you refer to the rough endoplasmatic reticulum. If it does not have ribosomes it is the smooth endoplasmatic reticulum.
But they have the testicles of their soon to be born sons.
I would say whether it's greater than 1 or lesser than 1 is inconclusive without accurate data .
You would need to find out whether amount of men with removed testicles is greater than amount of women pregnant with a boy (after the average week when testicles appear). Also men to women ratio in global population needs to be accounted for.
How can you simply learn about a fact that doesn’t effect your life and just move on!? Get angry, be horrified, buy a weirdly long picket sign and go to every pride parade to express your discomfort and let it putrefy into a deeper bigotry
There is no Nordic model. The Nordics have substantially different economic histories and have developed in different ways at different times. Finland was poor until really very recently, Denmark was and still is a colonial exploiter, Norway got oil rich, Iceland was a haven for bankers and tax cheats, and Sweden only saw a recent blip of social progress from the 40s into the 70s and then destroyed the labor movement that built those gains over the previous 20 years with the impressive equality achieved in that period rapidly eroding back to the 1920s when you look at disparate investment in education and other ways of funneling public benefits to the already wealthy. And don’t forget that Sweden are colonial bastards towards the Sami as well, and still are looting their way through those spoils for resource wealth.
Anyone who tells you there even is a Nordic model is a fucking idiot.
You probably missed the part where the article talks about university level math, and that strong juxtaposition is common there.
I also think that many conventions are bad, but once they exist, their badness doesn’t make them stop being used and relied on by a lot of people.
I don’t have any skin in the game as I never ran into ambiguity. My university professors simply always used fractions, therefore completely getting rid of any possible ambiguity.
