But let’s be real, to say (or imply) that all regions operate at the same level of “capitalism” is a disingenuous argument. It seems that if the housing issue in the US were this truly the fault of capitalism, then one would expect that more leftist variations to produce better results for solving homelessness.
While not familiar with the data on this, it’s my understanding that large cities in left leaning states tend to do worse at finding/providing long term housing to unhoused people.
I’m open to looking at contrary data, but that’s really what it’d take to sway my opinion on the matter.
Exactly. Do better with your money. Hire garden hermits. Make beautiful timeless jewelry or make your own museum. What do they do? Spend it on Super PACs, cars, ugly modern houses and stupid business investments.
It sucks seeing so many people praise this dude when they were needlessly toxic to me because I made a harmless joke they didn’t like. Then they deleted their toxic comment and no one believes me.

I have back issues - if I stand too long, my back really starts hurting. One of my favorite bands was playing in a standing room only place a few months ago, and I didn’t go because of it.
It’s not something that bothers me on a day-to-day basis, because I’m never really standing that long in normal situations. But for a few hours, on a concrete floor? That’s not going to go well.
Sometimes when I stand for too long, I get nausea and stomach cramps. Sitting down or walking cures that. Dunno what triggers that, it’s not a consistent effect, just sometimes.
Nope, I always forget it when I go for a check-up because it happens so infrequently. I had that since I was a kid, I remember throwing up at my First Communion because it took forever for the pastor to stop reading from the book.
Are you locking your knees? That can make people light headed and pass out. Idk. I’m sure you’ve thought of it but I’d hate for the solution to be that simple and you not know. I guess the question is does it happen if you’re walking for a long time or just standing still?
