Deftdrummer, in Why is everything a sequel, reboot or remake?
koberulz,

That’s a complete non-sequitur. And TCD has no clue what he’s talking about.

Deftdrummer,

Not true at all but keep seeking the magic reason!

It’s a multitude of factors I can share many more.

banana_meccanica, in Why is everything a sequel, reboot or remake?

Because the human being is habitual and prefers something that is always familiar to him. So the same things will be produced with the same actors, Tom Hanks will be forced to make films up to 90 years and if he dies he will be simulated by the IA until the end of time.

rtxn, in Well, it was nice while it lasted?

Is that the company that Kane Parsons is working with?

elucidated_block, in Is It Still Worth Going to the Movies?

With few exceptions I find that being in a theater improves the experience. At home I can pause and go pee, I can eat normal food, and I don’t have fucking dry eye from the AC blasting.

iheartneopets, in [DISCUSSION] [SPOILERS] - FOE - Saoirse Ronan, Paul Mescal

I can’t believe that anything with Saoirse Ronan and Paul Mescal could be so panned by critics. It must really be a stinker of a film if even those two acting powerhouses can’t save it :/

wintermute_oregon, in [DISCUSSION] Saw X (Spoilers)

I am going tonight. I love saw even with it’s flaws

doesitwork, in Did anyone see No One Will Save You?

I just saw this too and thought the scenes played so well with the lack of dialogue. I enjoyed the aliens as they weren’t very typical Hollywood aliens. I’d rate it 8/10 and suggest it for any sci-fi thriller lovers

Twinkletoes, in Did anyone see No One Will Save You?

I really enjoyed it too

CreativeCider, in Which PG-13 film made the best use of its one allocated F-word?

The fact that we have to be shielded from the bad word “fuck” in media in this day and age is somewhat outrageous in itself.

FriendlyBeagleDog,

I find it amusing that language is classified based upon frequency of use. If your average thirteen year old hears fuck once, maybe they’ll be okay - but how profane for them to hear it twice or even three times in a two hour timespan.

Klaymore, in Index of Review Websites / media

I rate movies on Letterboxd and it seems pretty popular. There’s also ratings on TMDB (The Movie DataBase) but there aren’t as many reviews.

HulkSmashBurgers, in [DISCUSSION] [SPOILERS] - The Color Purple - Fantasia Barrino, Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks - Dir. by Blitz Bazawule

Looks good.

hal_5700X, in Seems we've already got the plot for Barbie II
@hal_5700X@lemmy.world avatar

Oh no! Some rich people didn’t get nominated for some awards.

Stovetop, (edited ) in Apt Pupil - Thoughts on this film?

Isn’t this the film where Bryan Singer was accused of sexually abusing a cast of young boys during production? No thanks.
