Jdreben, in Canadian former intelligence chief found guilty of leaking state secrets

Does this mean Tutanota is compromised?

coldredlight,

Potentially. They are denying it’s true, and I don’t think any more evidence has come out besides this one claim.

yeather, in Israel, Hamas agree on four-day truce, hostage release and aid into Gaza

Which side do you think will break it first?

HumanPenguin, (edited )
@HumanPenguin@feddit.uk avatar

One side will claim the other did. And respond.

We all know what way around it will be.

But will see debates about weather or not the evidence of it being broken is real.

EDIT: honestly trying to avoid takibg sides. As niether are entirly innocent.

But fuck I am getting fed up with all sides claiming any support for the other is racist.

We have to much fucking racism to allow governemts to pull it out as a properganda move\weapon of war. While ignoring the actual actions.

Israel. They don’t keep their promises and haven’t for their entire existence.

governorkeagan, in Dozens arrested in Dublin as far-right mob runs riot over immigration

It was frightening to watch that happen live. So many people were unable to get home after work because of the rioting. There were claims that they did it for the woman and children, but I fail to see how they helped anyone but themselves.

SpiderShoeCult,

especially the looting, that was done for the woman and the children. I bet they’ll donate looted items to some charity /s

Measuring purely by confirmed kills, the worst mass murderer ever executed by the United States was the white-supremacist terrorist Timothy McVeigh. On April 19, 1995, McVeigh detonated a massive bomb at the Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City, killing 168 people, including 19 children. The government killed McVeigh by lethal injection in June 2001.

McVeigh, who in his own psychotic way thought he was saving America, never remotely killed on the scale of Kissinger…

author of the biography Kissinger’s Shadow, estimates that Kissinger’s …meant the end of between three and four million people.

How long after their release will Israel kidnap those released again?

raccoona_nongrata,

I mean, can you really kidnap people who are already in an open air prison that you use as a bombing range?

library_napper,
@library_napper@monyet.cc avatar

The prisoners include Palestinians from the West Bank. Gaza is the open air prison.

raccoona_nongrata, (edited )
@raccoona_nongrata@beehaw.org avatar

Gaza is in far worse of a state, yeah, but make no mistake that Palestine is under Israeli control as well. Every aspect of Palestinian life is subject to Israeli rule.

I think this is one of the biggest misunderstandings that gets exploited by the Israeli far-right; Palestine is not a country, it does not have independence or autonomy. Even Hamas itself is a consequence of Israeli influence.

I’m not trying to be argumentative or anything, but it’s really important that people understand the dynamic of power in that region. We’ve been lied about the reality for years to make it seem like this is a “both sides” kind of scenario.

library_napper,
@library_napper@monyet.cc avatar

The term “open air prison” was what human rights groups (iirc amnesty international) used to describe Gaza. I dont know of any creditable international human rights groups that have referred to the west bank as an “open air prison” in their reports on the region.

Yes, it’s a prison. It doesn’t really matter if CNN told you so or not.

Dont confuse human rights NGOs with shitty center right corporate media.

Do you actually confuse the two?

Thelsim, in Far-right party set to win most seats in Dutch elections, exit polls show

This is so depressing…
I knew it would be bad, but not this bad. Only comfort I can take is in the fact that they’ll have to form a coalition with other major parties. Most of them already flat-out denied working together with the PVV (Partij Voor de Vrijheid - Party For Freedom) but we’ll see how much of that will remain true.
Hopefully the coalition will break and we’ll have new elections in a year or so.

Treczoks,

If the other parties get their acts together, the PVV seats will not matter.

Namstel,

I can’t see a coalition of PVV, NSC, BBB and VVD serving the full 4 years. NSC and BBB are completely new, and the last time PVV was in a coalition they let it fall…

Thelsim,

They don’t need the BBB though. PVV, NSC and VVD should be good for an 81 seat majority.
But yes, I pretty much expect the coalition to fall within a year or two (should they manage to get a coalition to begin with). The question is who will cause the fall and who will be scapegoated. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’ll be positioning themselves for this inevitability from the start.

hulemy,

If they get BBB they will have a good number in the senate though

Thelsim,

That’s true, I didn’t think of that.
