I know in one case this is a bs slant. The person said its abhorrant but measures would only be taken if action was taken. IE the speech will not be silenced by the university but actually violence will not be allowed.
Zionists call anything short of unconditional support for Israel and it’s far right government an anti-semetic call for genocide of Jews. It’s propaganda.
So in other words they understood that they were being called on to condemn antisemitism in order to help reinforce the narrative that these college rallies were antisemitic protests, when in fact they were pro-Palestinian ones.
Good on them for choosing to side with their students rather than give the anti-Palestinian camp their manufactured “professors condemn antisemitic student rallies” soundbites.
Refuse to engage with their genocide-backing rhetoric that tries to tie being pro-Palestinian to being antisemitic.
It was fun having to go to work yesterday morning. Nothing was cleared up, no way for cars to get to my house so I had to make a trek by foot. This morning was worse because some of the snow had melted during the day yesterday and it refroze. Everything is slippery now.
One thing outside observers need to know is how incompetent the municipality services are. They knew in advance that this storm was coming. There were warnings all week. It came a day late here so they had extra time. The municipality website showed no information, just some cultural events and an article from two days ago that “the municipality is ready for the winter”. At this point we have a saying for poor organisation during winter time when everyone knows it’s coming in advance:
@IoSapsai Ah, yes, a classic. They can never be ready for winter. When you hear that, just run (or go skying like our president does, whichever is more convenient).
A doctor carried the small limp body of a dead boy in a tracksuit and placed him in a corner, arms splayed across the blood-smeared tile. On the floor nearby, surrounded by discarded bandages and rubber gloves, lay a wounded boy and girl, their limbs tangled with the stands holding IV drips in their arms.
Two young girls were being treated, still covered in dust from the collapse of the house that had buried their family.
“My parents are under the rubble,” sobbed one. “I want my mum, I want my mum, I want my family.”
If you’re not furious, you’re not paying attention.
Especially the single-use ones are really bad for the environment. I don’t mind this.
However I think vaping is a good way for people to detox off cigarettes (by slowly reducing nicotine content) so banning vaping as a whole phenomenon is a bad thing IMO. Perhaps it could be prescription based for people who are trying to kick cigarettes.
