Blackout, in Kids loved the potato

I had a table with fake brains and severed arms on it with price tags attached. They kept asking asking for the brains and setting me up with the "sorry, I know it's yours but you weren't using it" line over and over again. Dads up and down the street applauded each time.

I think I can speak for all Lemminites when I say, we all experienced our first heartfelt smile in the Spud Pit.

The sign read “hot spuds meeting tonight at 10” and I just couldn’t help myself.

What’s with the pile in the middle? What style is that? Almost looks like hash brown, but without being held together.

BeanGoblin,

Shoestring potatoes.

Kolanaki,
@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

If that’s shoestring what the hell is the typical fast food cut called? I thought that was shoestring. 🤔

Skhate_or_die,

Hashbrowns

I don’t know if you’re being silly or I need to point out I meant the fries. 🤣

Skhate_or_die,

Haha, yep I guess I was being silly. Had a few cocktails at happy hour and totally misunderstood that. 😂

ChicoSuave,

Typical American fast food fries are a julienne cut. The tiny shoestring ones are also called matchstick fries.

Shoestring, julienne, matchstick, haystack

There seems to be some contention on this.

I’ll just chalk that up to regional differences in naming. Like Soda vs Pop. I’ve never seen this in California. Where might I actually order “matchstick fries” or a “haystack?” :3

redhorsejacket,

Freddy’s Steakburgers is a chain that serves matchstick style fries. Idk if they are in California, but they’ve popped up all over the Midwest. I hate them, but several of my friends swear by them. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

BigDiction,

Nah the middle is better referred to as Haystack. Shoestring style is like McDonalds

Can’t decide whether to boil 'em, mash 'em, or stick 'em in a stew.
