Not really. Depending on how it works, it can slow down the browser itself due to needing to inspect and change content. Simple URL filters will, if anything, speed it up by blocking you from even trying to download unnecessary or malicious stuff.
I use a few of these and I have no issues with internet speed. I can stream HD video while uploading large files no problem. So I’d bet you’d be just fine, probably won’t even notice unless it’s faster. But I wasn’t aware of hBlock, I’ll have to look into it.
Believe me, I also say Fuck Google, and I don’t want to get into it but there are certain apps that I download from unofficial sources (🏴☠️) and I really like them and consider that they deserve my money, and the only way I have is to pay for them in the Google Playstore.
You could just override your local DNS to do so, but you’ll end up breaking other sites that try to load it at some point. Maybe try only using a bookmark?
Damn this was unexpected. So it seems they’ll just proxying / serving all email to Outlook apps through their servers. Damn Microsoft that’s really fucking anti-competitive.
