Son_of_dad, in Carrie Fisher making a snowball behind the scenes of Empire Strikes Back

It’s crazy to think she was only 22-23 when she filmed Empire strikes back. She always has this authority and confidence that made her seem much older.

Son_of_dad, in Phantom Menace concept art of battle droids, by Doug Chiang

When I first saw the droids in commercials or posters, I kinda thought they would just sound like imperial probe droids, which would be much creepier. Even as a kid, I really hated the voice they gave them

GregorGizeh,

Agreed. Their voice and demeanor is way too goofy for what they are, mass produced soldier bots.

I hear she was really into snow at that time

Truly a dangerous weapon, not even a lightsaber can fully block it.

Donebrach, in X-Wing squadron returning to base, by Crvnjava
@Donebrach@lemmy.world avatar

The copy-paste of the X-wing vector art is pretty lazy and very Graphic Design 101. Surprised there’s no “EST. 34 BBY” text and some arrows and random font glyphs.

Vader’s helmet looks so big in this shot.

xspurnx, in Battle of Hoth - The Empire Strikes Back concept art by Ralph McQuarrie (1978)

That Tauntaun looks really cool.

setsneedtofeed,
@setsneedtofeed@lemmy.world avatar

It’s a lot more lizard-like. Very expressive.

xspurnx, in Ralph McQuarrie's Concept Art for the original trilogy

Nice. Are there larger version for each movie available somewhere?

Looks like robot chicken

Coasting0942, in Behind the scenes angle of Vader and Luke’s duel in Return Of The Jedi

Ha. This angle makes it look like Vader should have one hit KO’d Luke, especially with his cannon cybernetic augments

GBU_28, (edited )

That’s like, part of the plot.

Luke can stand up to him because he is force stronk. Where as before, when he hadn’t swamp trained, he was force floppy, and had to run, or got bodied

half_built_pyramids, in Princess Leia fan art by Gabriele Dell'Otta
