Yes, I believe so.

VFR 🤨… I mean, does anyone actually use that? It flopped for video content, I seriously doubt anyone is gonna use that on a PC.

DirectDraw is an MS specific thing, part of DirectX. How does that fit into Wayland?

The second, I would actually LOVE to get in any frame server, X or Wayland, but that will most probably never happen.

I have also jumped ship from MS, but it is actually a cool feature. I don’t use it that frequently, but a few times a month, yeah.

On Flatpak? Probably not. You update those libraries, even manually, and things will most probably break.

One of the many reasons I don’t like Flatpak. You really don’t have any control over how these packages are delivered. What the package maintainer did, that is it. But there’s a new version. Nope, not if the package maintainer doesn’t update.

Ah, yes, I saw that commic somewhere, I think someone posted it on Lemmy, but there was a twist to it at the end… can’t remember what it was, but it was funny 😂.

I completely agree, but there is a problem with that approach. It means you have to work hard… which is not what most of these software companies are ready to do.

0x4E4F,
@0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yeah, but if you wanna share your file… 🤷.

0x4E4F,
@0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works avatar

Yes, that was it 🤣🤣🤣.

Really? That thing works? Like no pixelization?

0x4E4F,
@0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works avatar

That is true, info regarding it can mostly be found on Reddit.

No Linux distro is an “industry standard”… if you’re thinking of POSIX compatible.

Well, there are 2, one is that distro Huawei made and I forgot the other one. But basically, those two are the only ones that are POSIX certified.

Had to google that to be honest 😂… didn’t know what coffee was spelled like in hex 😂.

Don’t forget to mention my tit when you get asked the same question again 🤣🤣🤣.

Meeh, we all make mistakes 🤷.

Still want that left tit pic? Gotta warn you, it’s hairy 😂.

Sent 🤣.

That’s a different spin on this, but… I’LL TAKE IT!

This way, the rotation would be on a standard body rotation of left and right.

Uuummm, I don’t think so… at least not acording to the pic. If you rotate on the x-axis, essentially the body is moving like a gymnist on a high bar.

You just fix grub with a live usb, it’s not that difficult.

I know, it was an alternative scenario 😁.

0x4E4F,
@0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works avatar

That is good news actually.

0x4E4F,
@0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works avatar

I don’t think so, they’re probably 120mm.

0x4E4F,
@0x4E4F@sh.itjust.works avatar

Meeh, if you can compile it or make it run on modern day libraries, who cares 🤷.

Some file managers might add the +x automatically if you choose to run the binary through the desktop environment (not the terminal)… or ask you if you’d like to mark the file as an executable (i.e. add +x to permissions).

You can’t do it the same way with tar, what are you gonna execute, tar is neither a script or an ELF binary. It’s like asking for a zip file to be executable, doesn’t make sense. You can change the extension to .exe, but it won’t run, it’s not an exe, no MZ header, nothing 🤷.

Serato DJ should work in Wine fine. Wine is more active as a project now than it ever was, thanks to Valve’s Proton, which is bascially a Wine fork aimed at gaming on Linux through Steam. But, they push changes upstream (the Wine project), so Wine is really going fast forward now, they’re up to version 8.something now, which is a big jump, considering it was at version 5 only a few years ago and that the project has been around for about 2 decades.

Regarding DJ controllers and Wine… that might be a bit tricky, but it’s worth a shot 🤷. Might require some manual library overrides or setups, but if the controller is supported in Linux (works fine with, let’s say, Mixxx or Transitions DJ), it should be able to work in Wine as well.
