a 1500monthly UBI would be life changing to a lot of people.

and probably allow people to meet basic needs if they cracked down on corporate greed and its fake inflation.

A_Random_Idiot,

Why the hell would I want to do the last 20 years all over again?

They were shit the first time, aint gonna be anything but worse the second time around.

A_Random_Idiot,

But that was just her bitching and moaning, not hints?

biggest ongoing issue i’ve had is getting Vortex working for Bethesda games.

but I just found a linux installer for Mo2, and while I dont like having to launch Mo2 to launch my modded game… its fucking ecstasy island compared to the horrific jank of dealing with Vortex.

A_Random_Idiot,

My first thought as well, lol.

Though sending a frozen item international mail and hoping it stays frozen the entire time is probably expensive.

A_Random_Idiot,

No.

I’m not a coal industry propagandist, so the only opinion I have on wind turbines is to build more of the fucking things.

A_Random_Idiot,

I never said they wouldnt investigate.

I was just explaining how they wouldnt become a private security force.

A_Random_Idiot,

if there is a series of crimes in the area, police would increase patrols in the area.

Anything more than that would require hiring a private security company.

ground based security could easily be bypassed by a drone and with a remote igniter and a release latch.

A_Random_Idiot,

I have LEDs in my computer against my will, because the heatsink and motherboard both came with them and to get ones that didnt would have cost more.

My GPU used to have them too, but I recently upgraded to a new one that doesnt, which is fan-fucking-tastic in my opinion.

Looks like the floor of a abattoir after a unicorn butchering.

A_Random_Idiot,

I cant even tolerate going to the store with mine.

She turns a 10 minute trip to grab milk and bread, into a 2 hour ordeal where I have to watch her like a hawk cause if I turn my back to her for .03 femtoseconds shes up and disappeared.

A_Random_Idiot,

i miss the mid 90s internet.

Where the internet was a curiousity, not yet exploited by companies and advertising, where to find new websites you had to click next on ring networks or find a website directory cause search engines werent even a thing yet, but every website you found was someones passion project and rife with the interesting and bizarre

A_Random_Idiot,

Yes, stupid delusional users who actually know what social media is and isnt, unlike a self aggrandizing imbecile making comments like yours.

A_Random_Idiot,

wasnt about getting the colors right (which was a challenged trying to get cables connected in tight confines…) it was about how fucking tight those sockets were, and the closer the plugs were, the tighter they were by some bizarre happenstance, so ones super tight up against eachother like that would be near impossible to shove in, especially in cramped confines that you typically had to work in.

A_Random_Idiot,

Wow, that could get me a whole .10 of an inch more length! incredible!

A_Random_Idiot,

Your mother sounds like what specialists would describe as a, and i quote, “massive cunt”

Is there an artist so horrible that no matter how hard you try that you cannot separate their art from them?

Similar to the recent question about artists where you can successfully separate them from their art. Are there any artists who did something so horrible, so despicable, that it has instantly invalidated all art that they have had any part in?

A_Random_Idiot,

To be fair, it wasn’t Dave’s idea or something he supported.

And yet he kept mendel in the band, and had the message plastered on their website.

Thats not something you get to handwave away with even the grossest incompetence claim.

Mendel was even quoted saying that the only reason he did it was because he thought he was helping people, not hurting them.

I mean, yeah. he likes his career, of course he says that.

A_Random_Idiot,

This isnt brave or pushing boundaries.

This is just an imbecile commiting suicide with extra steps.

Which items/products were you once able to get from local shops on a whim that you now more or less have to order online?

Sometimes I find myself shopping for things that I’d prefer to go out and get within the same day, but now I’d have to order and wait a few days to get…So I’m wondering what some of those things may be for you?

A_Random_Idiot,

Oh yeah, I only get OEM stuff.

I dont get the knockoffs. I don’t want to do the job 5 times in a week, be out the money, and go get the OEM part anyway.

A_Random_Idiot, (edited )

You sound like my mother with how desperately you try to twist shit to make other peoples choices and actions somehow magically my fault.

A_Random_Idiot,

Lotro used to be a fantastic MMO, I gave a big chunk of my life to that game.

I quit playing after Mordor though, game just got too pointlessly difficult, even on landscape, lost all the fun I had with it.

A_Random_Idiot, (edited )

Oh, neat. I thought it was the first expansion, but hte second?

Thats a whole lot of content for free.

Apologies for my accidental misinformation.

Why wasn't NYC's Central Park concept copied by other cities?

I’m talking about a massive park in the absolute heart of the city. Located such that is naturally surrounded by city high rises. *People are giving examples of parks that are way off in the boonies. I’m trying to say located centrally, heart of the city, you know where the high rises are. Yes I understand nyc has more, the...

A_Random_Idiot,

Something seems odd with the idea that high rises were ‘natural’ :-)

They are better than spreading single family homes and ground floor commercial spaces over a huge swath of land that would inevitable need clearcutting and plowing under to be suitable for development.

A_Random_Idiot,

I think you misjudge, considering how massively popular fishing became during covid, as one of the only hobbies you could do that was outside and solitary.
